I wouldn’t say China is favored in any of their remaining matches, but the matches against Germany and Canada could be the difference In Zhang we trust!

In Zhang we trust! Is he also in your VTAD list too? I'm not allowed to reveal such lists until after the tournament! (Of course he is 😉)

Quick story about De Cecco: I didn't know he existed until I watched the USA play Argentina in the Olympics! I wondered why my grumpy mail carrier was setting for the Albiceleste!
Then he bumpset a quick and I almost fell off the couch!
Started to watch Argentina at every opportunity and then subscribed to Volleyballworld.TV to catch the Italian Superlega and Lube and holy cow can that guy work miracles.
I wonder if he'd ever come to the States and do a setting clinic.
I wonder how far he can take this team!

And what's up with DeFalco? He seemed really snippy with Shoji in the Brasil match - acting like he used to act.

Random question, not necessarily related to VNL. But how often is the Hawkeye system tested against video evidence? Seems to me, every time a video replay sneaks up on a monitor, Hawkeye is off. You see a ball land in, but Hawkeye shows it completely out. I also remember an Italian League replay a few years back showing clearly out with Hawkeye showing in.
Seems like it should be tested and calibrated constantly.
Thst also said, is there a ststistic that shows its accuracy?

Not sure about its accuracy or data that shows how often its been wrong, but for VNL purposes, there aren't even using Hawkeye. They're using Bolt6, a different program that, to my eyes, has been wrong quite a few times already. But I'd love some data on Hawkeye as well. trojansc mentioned this on the women's side, but I'd prefer they go back to showing the actual flattened ball for in/out calls rather than the graphic.

Speraw mentioned someone from Bolt6 coming over to talk to him and apologizing after the Brazil match. I think that actually bodes well for them. The system has only been in use for a few weeks now? Maybe it will improve over time.
