I'm wondering if Karch might be toying with the idea of playing his best combo players, hitting and passing, to try to stay in system more often. If that's the case I think we might see the less obvious combination of Skinner and RPJ. All three of the OH's have played very well so I think Karch has more leeway then we first might have thought. Do we think we would be getting significantly better performance from any of the other OH's?

In terms of hitting, I think Lanier has the highest ceiling that he hasn’t shown yet during any of the 2 games she played in. But I think Turkey’s serve will give the USA OHs a hard time. I’m predicting Turkey 3-1 because of that, but we shall see!

Interesting enough is that the only person on the current US roster who has actually received against all of Turkey's players is Brooke who just finished up her season with Nuilfer.

Why? Does Turkey serve tougher than others? Vargas seems to have the toughest serve. Or is USAs passing just suspect? We’ll see. It will be USA’s block vs Turkey - but they can be large too. Also, how well can US contain Vargas and not have any of the others go off. That might be key. Can USA’s oppo also produce? Feels like it could have been better vs the Euro teams - but then again, it was only Drews. We’ll see how she or Cuttino produces. It’s an interesting match vs a more experienced Turkey with the explosive Vargas as a new reinforcement.

Did you see Vargas's serving in previous matches? That is really men's volleyball. USA OH cannot handle that. Karch, just pray, there is nothing else need to do haha

And you know USA's block, Dana definitely not even close to the level of Turkey's two experienced middle blockers. We will see how Butler's blocking ability is. Annie is important in producing some points. I believe usa cannot contain vargas, as you see the outside hitters' floor defense is pretty rough.Turkey got this.

No matter what the result is, I'll be happy.
Türkiye hasn't beaten the USA since VNL 2019 prelims (I think).
If USA wins, I'll be elated but I think the Turks have a far superior roster, and that is OK.
USA needs Tokyo 2021 Annie to show up and more offense out of Lanier. Rettke (if she starts) needs to not only close the block, but also be an offensive threat as well.
Türkiye looks to be in top form and I just LOVE seeing Kübra, Asli and Gizem back with the team. Vargas appears to the spark the team needed. Even Karakurt doesn't seem to mind seeing limited duty.
I'm also VERY impressed with Ilkin Aydin. Was she with the squad last season?

Vargas may produce some insane numbers.

I hope it's another 5 set slugfest, although, USA needs to start garnering more match points with more decisive victories. I just don't see us beating Tùrkiye in 4 or a sweep. We could squeak out a 5 set win if they play sloppy.

I think this is great experience for everyone on team USA. Turkey has a great crowd, and that is something USA needs to face at the Olympic qualification. We will see whose mental stays strong, this is important.
