OK are we done with this "why is Muagututia in there" chatter yet?? It happens every single tournament and then he comes in and proves his value. No, he should never be a starter. No he's not going to take over a match like we know Russell and DeFalco can. No, we shouldn't set him a bunch of balls. But he steadies our team and makes plays here and there that actually keeps us in matches. And he cleans up the passing that we lose sometimes when TJ starts having a bad game. He has a role to play! Can I still wish for him to retire from the national team as soon as Paris 24 is over, and/or have someone who can pass/play defence just as well as him but terminate more, just happen to miraculously appear in the next 11 months. haha I fully agree. Paris 24 is as far as that train needs to go. I'm just saying as Garrett's biggest hater years ago, I've come to appreciate his worth in terms of just doing enough to right the ship but every national team season, we seem to hit the same narrative about him and it gets proven wrong.

Still disagree, if you've followed shoji's channel and watched those hitting line video, you can easily tell the difference of his and MH, MA, AR's contacts, and his hitting height is very low if you observe. But I agree if Speraw has to bring the 4th OH it would be him. I would choose 3 OHs + anderson, garcia, and k russell. Again, he's not there to be a Russell or Anderson or the biggest offensive contributor. That's not his role. If we're setting him as many balls as aby of our other pins, we're in trouble. He steadies things and makes the little plays when we need him to.

I thought it was gonna be a sweep, turned off by the end of set 2 and went into a few work meetings, and came back it was a 5-set thriller! I am not so sure about that throw call in set 5 and that might be the momentum killer for France there.
Come on, USA! Rest up and finish the business.

And that GM is lower as a spiker is almost irrelevant given his role and brand of play. You could see France setting at him when he was front row though. That’s a legit issue.

I wouldn't classify it as a thriller, but it helped fill the time i had anticipated having between this match and the Italy/Argentina match lol.

TJ wasn't sick he just had a bad game and there were some exchanges between him and Speraw that seemed a bit dramatic. Say what you want about TJ but the coach exchange didn't look good ..... TJ was a little nicked up during that match. He was limping after the match. Something's the simplest answer is the right one. We move on. Yeah there was a play in (I believe) the 4th where he and another player (D Smith?) both went to ground close by each other going for a ball dropping, I think the OoB area near zone 4, and I guess had a slight nick/collision, where TJ came up slowly, played a few more points including getting blocked a couple times, then they made the sub back to Garrett.

Ngapeth is probably laughing at Team France in between bites at a Denny's all you can eat buffet right now... "You can't win without this Fat Man" sort of like USA vs Japan in 1945 #Oppenheimer

Also it seems that the stomach bug has hit other teams. You can bet Aaron wasn't the only USA guy affected by this.....just the most recent. Hoping it has run its course for the sake of our team and all the remaining VNL teams.

Brizard is such a lil whiny b*tch.
His attitude is childish, at best.

I was impressed with the entire team play; they kept it together when the going got tough. I was also impressed with Ma'a and GM coming in to help. Ma'a digs were great.

I’ve seen more clutch from him than most players..
