Lincoln’s assessment: “ Based on available information, my starting lineup for the first match of the season would be as follows: setter Bergen Reilly, outside hitters Harper Murray and Lindsay Krause, middle blockers Bekka Allick and Andi Jackson, opposite Merritt Beason and libero Lexi Rodriguez. Laney Choboy will play the back row for Krause.” I’m thinking the same here. Sleeper would be a Kubik start the first weekend to test the waters. Last year I wrote a couple of times that I wouldn't be surprised if Hayden earned a starting spot largely due to her passing/defense. Obviously, I didn't take Harper's arrival into consideration.

I actually don't understand why Nebraska doesn't do that more. We seem to be loading up on Freshmen every year. Why not make sure we have an open scholarship every year to grab someone we need out of the portal? Statistically, you're going to "miss" on X% of your recruits and this would help alleviate that. Do Hord and Beason not count? You want Nebraska to reserve two spots for players out of the portal? Also, let’s be clear. Nebraska hasn’t been just loading up with freshmen. They’ve been loading up with the best freshmen in the country for 3 classes in a row. I’m interested to see how it pans out. Sometimes the 'best freshmen' do not become the best sophmores and juniors. Some players take time to develop, and they dont become the best until they have had a couple of years in college.

I don't know what this means in the context of whether to bring in transfers instead of freshmen. Nebraska is literally getting first choice among high school players in 3 classes in a row. Which players should they not bring in to save a spot for an additional transfer player? They've already brought in a top transfer each year the last two years. Should they bring in two? There's not a lot of weak links in terms of talent acquisition to point to.

The way that Oor snaps her head back when she sets the ball is wild. It seems more like a bad habit than anything, but maybe they couldn't fix it or it isn't considered a problem to be fixed. Its just a quirk that she has.

How did they perform individually and they are now being challenged by the incoming class, how much did they improve, who cared those teams..I remember also NE getting an easy cake walk for playoffs

John Cook has said many times that the girls who are best at serving and passing will get to play. I wouldn't rule Kubik out for more playing time. Krause's passing is suspect, but her serving is excellent...maybe the best on the team. I think that may give her a slight edge over Batenhorst.

You think Beating #3 National seed Pittsburgh at the Final Four was a cakewalk. Individually, the freshmen were magnificent in the wins, All Regional Team, , especially Rodriquez and Krause. Losing National Championship vs Wisconsin in 5 sets. You are embarrassing yourself.

They made a national championship final two years ago. They made the Sweet Sixteen last year. Like Kingsley said, it’s a modern tragedy for Nebraska to fall in the regional semifinals, but people are a little quick to come to conclusions about the recruiting classes based on that. I will say they need to beat Wisconsin. That’s the big boogeyman. But last year is not enough evidence to me that their talent acquisition is completely askew. To me it’s a silly premise.
