LOL i love the confusion between graduation year & playing year Usually when discussing a recruit, it goes by their High School Graduation year. Not the year they are eligible to step on the court (playing year). Another way of saying I was correct but somehow I'm still wrong?

Another way of saying I was correct but somehow I'm still wrong? The 2024 thread has 17 pages discussing players in the same recruiting class as the ones you mentioned. This thread has 3 pages so far with all other posts discussing players one year later class. Your call if you are right or wrong but those are the facts

Rafael Urbina (Setter) - Bay to Bay to UCLA Ok so do any of these guys actually have a chance at real playing time? I don’t know where this guy stacks up as far as the pure ability to set and run an offense compared to Rowan? I saw Taliaferro? a few weeks ago and wasn’t super impressed…but I don’t even know if it’s so much Rowan’s ability to set or just the multiple ways he can impact a game.

Rafi and JLP (Stanford) are probably the top two setters in the graduating class of 2025. Both have been NTDP for a while. Rafi would be a freshman when Rowan is entering his senior year. So not hard to see a natural progression into a possible starting role.

Oh ok yes that does make sense I’ll be completely honest, this thread makes it very difficult to tell what year these recruits actually graduate/show up on campus lol

Redshirt, add a year. all the past VT HS recruit threads are the same, Rowan was in the 2022 thread. The GMU alum was the first to find it confusing, maybe because of the press release from the school. UCLA is locking down setters: 2022- #1 setter in class Andrew 2024- #2 setter Trent (Nikolov is #1) 2025- arguably the #1 setter Rafael

And so does that mean that Trent is the #1 considering Nikolov is not a US recruit?

Rafa is the top setter in 2025. Look forward to seeing him don the red, white and blue very soon. Seems to be the Rowan’s successor in Westwood

Layton Bluth arguably the best libero for the class of 2025 (AZ Fear 17TD) going to BYU.

Layton Bluth arguably the best libero for the class of 2025 (AZ Fear 17TD) going to BYU. Layton is a great player, but I would put Brogan Glenn (Balboa 17-committed to UCLA) at the same level. Both are top of their class at libero IMO.

I feel like only 3-4 colleges ever get high-ranked recruits anymore
