Wasn’t able to watch a single point but Craig has been extremely disappointing ever since the natty. When was the last time we won a big game the year after they won the natty the won the SEC, the year after that, they tied for SEC. While we’d all like them to be great every year, I think the Kentucky AD probably isn’t expressing any concern or disappointment. The downside to winning the natty, is of course the expectations that now come with it. Kentucky has an incredible coach and leader.

The offense is just not clicking. Wether it’s the new system or Grome’s sets, a lot of these balls are not high enough or the hitters are late transitioning.
The other glaring issue is the blocking. Particularly the middle blockers are not putting balls down. Tealer actually got taken out before the third set and I don’t think I’ve ever seen Skinner do that to her. Wilson didn’t make a difference off the bench either. Between the lack of offense and blocking, you just aren’t gonna beat a lot of top 25 teams.

I was lowkey hoping Kentucky had at least a decent offense this year bc Josephson is in charge of it, but at the same time I was also skeptical. He loves an unnecessarily fast offense, even when the parts arent there for it

I have no clue

I'm trying to be patient. Implementing a new quicker offense takes time but won't work with the current passing. I love Tealer but she isn't making the impact she has in the past years. I'm hoping he will go with Williams and Goetzinger and trying use the situational 6-2. For a good stint, Gromes blocking was really hurting. Gromes inconsistency is still hurting everyone. Not sure if Sarafa is red-shirting but I'd give her a chance.

Clearly, the key was Anders this entire time

It has been well said and documented by players and alumni how key Anders was at UK. I’m not sure if his absence has to do with the early woes. If things continue, you would have to think Skinner steps into fix the system. It really is hard to tell if it’s Grome’s setting or the system. I haven’t noticed the hitters communicating with Grome at all about the sets so I’d say it’s more of the system.
If Skinner pulled Lilley at times in her career, you have to think he’d do the same with Grome if it was the sets.

I have no clue yeah twu was insane and I played against them before. He had a brief stint with Team Canada women’s as an assistant before moving to the men’s team. He got canned but I wish they would have given him more of a chance. But anyways back to Kentucky…

I feel like Kentucky has always struggled a little finding their groove the first couple of weekends.

From Coach Skinner after last night’s match’s
“It’s a combination of first contact, setting, and attacking. We’ve got to clean that up and become a little more efficient,” Skinner said. “We knew it would take some time to create this efficiency in what we’re trying to do but in the process we’ve got to be more aggressive.”
