For Purdue fans struggling with blood pressure, may I recommend rewatching the 4th set?
Not a doctor, but nothing exciting in that set to get your heart racing.

Congrats to B1G Purdue! — What is the record for five-setters played in pre-season? Purdue shut down in set four only to play five, again! Lapses of sloppy play. But when you have a Chicoyne or Hudson to bail you out, it somehow works. The question is for how long this season?

But when you have a Chicoyne or Hudson to bail you out, it somehow works. The question is for how long this season? Purdue is only going to get better… of seven matches there has been four different STARTING lineups. The only consistency has been Eva, Chloe, and Schemerhorn. This was the first weekend Anderson started. Not to mention that Colvin was in the M2 against SMU and Kentucky until the fifth set. Carr got the advantage in Lawrence where Lourdes in Lafayette. Besides libero Purdue returns this entire team as long as they stay away from the portal. If we are learning anything about Purdue is you can out hit them, dig, serve whatever. But they are a very frustrating team to beat. They have very rarely beaten a team by a lot of points but sure have gotten handled in sets. Learning to hang in like this will better fit them for conference than non-conference. If they keep getting better each weekend they may be able to sneak into the sweet 16 this year… extreme long shot but not many teams in the country are as young as them with this much upside.

Purdue has now played 7 matches. They have been outscored in 5 of the 7 matches and yet they sit with a 5-2 record.
4 of the 7 matches have gone to 5 sets and each has gone to extra points. After losing their first 4 sets that were decided by just 2 points - they have now won 6 straight sets decided by 2 points.
Purdue is on a 4 game winning streak since the 1st week - yet they have been outscored 403-400 in those 4 matches.

As a Nebraska fan whose team has lost 8589404939 deuce sets to Wisconsin over the course of this depressing streak they have on us, I appreciate Purdue having the grit to pull these matches out. Your record doesn't reflect who won stat categories, it reflects who won the match.

I wonder if that has anything to do with their consistency. If I’m a Purdue fan - I think I’d be pretty excited about this start to the season, irregardless of total points scored - which never really matters much..

TBH i'm much more excited about the start of this season than last season. They're playing 5 set matches against legitimately good teams.

Has Anderson replaced Poulter, or is Poulter injured, not sure I could tell. Seems like she is holding her own, especially blocking. Any thoughts?

From a purely fan/performance perspective, in game Anderson has been setting a better ball so I think it's performance based. That said I'm not with the program so I can't actually say.

Anderon's clutch performances off the bench against Kansas and Marquette won her the spot, IMO. Poulter isn't "injured" but I don't think her mobility isn't there yet post-ACL. She also has some questionable set choices.
