I'd also like to take this moment to call out the Block party.
Attendance: FANTASTIC! Energy: FANTASTIC!
Why did you start doing Visual distractions when the opponent isn't facing you? That's just adding distraction to Purdue!

Yeah, but SC had 14 more kills… frankly, I think the officials determined this… sort of spoiled the match… I'm only really upset about the in out call they ruled inconclusive. You can't argue net calls, the only other thing i could propose is you have to challenge right away, don't let a point play out and then say, hey 30 seconds ago you missed that. It creates long reviews and takes away from long rallies Why in the world would you waste a challenge for something that happens in a rally if you go on to win the point? That makes no sense at all.

The glorious tradition of USC setter talent adds a chapter featuring a Steve Aird serving sub Who was originally a Mick Haley USC recruit.

My point was not clear. As the rule is today, of course you wouldn't challenge if you ended up winning the point. The "wish" I have is that a coach should not be able to say, "hey maybe I saw something" then wait as a long rally plays out, and then finally challenge if their team ends up losing the point. The coach would have to make a decision to challenge immediately, and then fans would know exactly what was being challenged and looked at, rather than a call being overturned on something that happened in the first 10 seconds of a 45 second rally.

Nice weekend for USC! Big conference opener at UCLA for them! If they win that, they are in position to really get rolling!
