Their defenses, particularly their liberos, make them the 2 best teams in the country from my perspective. So yeah, I hope they get to play each other in a Regional Final or Final Four so one of them knocks out the other. Okay! The gator has spoken lol I mean, defense wins championships. I'm high on my Gators, but there's no denying Louisville and Nebraska's back court being a tier above the rest of the country. I'm hoping my Gators can beat Wisconsin Sunday so they'll be on a path to a #1 seed and avoiding Louisville and Nebraska for as long as possible come December.

Well Florida does have a great setter and the probably the most productive freshman. Heck, Florida always has a chance to be in the mix lol

Just watched this match. I have no specific take that hasn't been addressed already. Obviously I cant watch every match of every team, and Im not an expert, but Im starting to believe that Louisville is the best coached team in the country. I don't think they're the best team overall, but they are so fundamentally sound at everything. It's a pleasure to watch them play.

This team is always more than the sum of it's parts.

Lots of fair weather fans out there. Three years ago Skinner and Kentucky were the greatest thing that ever happened to volleyball. Now……… ? I’m sorry are we supposed to be happy with how far we have back slid post natty? Fair criticism. Losing Skinner to TX was a huge setback. I agree UK needs to be better in the portal, but I'm sure they're trying. I'm sure Skinner is doing everything he needs to do, just needs some time.

I think there's no doubt Louisville has the best staff in the country, im also very biased lol. Louisville is not even in the same realm of recruiting as their fellow top 5 schools and they look every bit as good. One player who was ranked in the top 20 out of high school

I mean none of those Louisville starters came in being high recruits or having any type of clout. It’s just their work ethic and DBK her staff‘s coaching. It’s insane.

DeBeer was definitely a very high recruit. HS All-American and top 25 if I remember. DBK does a good job for sure, but the setter situation is a head scratcher. Relying on a transfer instead of recruit and develop.

Relying on a transfer instead of recruit and develop. people say this all the time but if you really think about it this has been her situation : 2017 - came in with many holes on the roster to a losing record team and had to bring in Wilma rivera as a transfer setter who had two years of eligibility. 2019 - brought in dilfer due to the loss of a starting setter with a big roster turnover that year (developed her into an all American). due to her coming in just two years before and the recruiting rules were not changed yet, how was she supposed to get a quality high school recruit at that time? dilfer started for 3 years. 2022 - brought in Lazaro and Glock because Shannon shields was meant to be the full scholarship setter on roster at the time but she had transferred after covid season when she learned dilfer was returning. offered Lazaro a semester on scholarship and gave Glock the other 2.5 years because Glock at that time was not ready to take over a final 4 team and Lazaro was also, Louisville was not relevant until like 2 years ago, the hype of the program has not trickled into recruiting yet because they're very freshly a 'top' program

Not crazy to think UK could have an OH group of Skinner, Eva Hudson, Lamb, and DeLeye right now. Sigh.

Relying on a transfer instead of recruit and develop. Sure, but would you really put Glock in the same transfer bucket as others? She’s not a grad transfer coming in for 1 last year with tons of experience and taking the spot of a recruit who sat the bench for 2-3 years waiting on a spot. She came as a R-freshman, sat the bench and developed under an experienced Lazaro, and is now running the show ahead as a R- sophomore ahead of the grad transfer setter on the roster. If DBK slotted Petrenko at starter, I’d think there was more to this… but she’s using Glock. I think that is showing a commitment to development. Hopefully she will continue that now that the covid years are running out.

also, Louisville was not relevant until like 2 years ago, the hype of the program has not trickled into recruiting yet because they're very freshly a 'top' program I keep trying to remind people of this. Louisville's emergence onto the "national powerhouse" stage is quite recent. It was only in 2019...four seasons ago, that the "upset queens" without the injured Melanie McHenry, beat Texas in Austin to advance to the program's first ever Elite Eight.

the hype of the program has not trickled into recruiting yet because they're very freshly a 'top' program I wouldn't say that. They have Ava Utterback, Nayelis Cabellk, and Payton Petersen, coming next season and Chloe Meester, Hannah Kenny, and Addison Makun for 2025. Those are some quality recruits.
