Sheffields associate head coaches ( Dildine and White) have stayed with him for 14 years. Dildine was recognized as associate head coach of the year in 2021. Hickey was recognized as one of the best newcomer coaches last year. So the assistant coaches at wisconsin are very good. They just don't leave to become head c I aches, so far. They’re excellent coaches but those recognitions are…..whatever. to you maybe....

Let's say the teams split these games. Would you rather win the first match or the second? Serious take: Huskers need to end the losing streak this Saturday. Period. If we lose (again), we’re just gonna be replaying the same old story to ourselves, for another month, or even another year: why can’t Nebraska beat Wisconsin? Take Game 1. #End the Streak. #End it Now. [b Wisconsin had the better team in those matches. Nebraska isn’t bewitched, or losing to a team they should be beating.

Sounds like a back handed compliment. Exceptional assistants but the recognitions that they were awarded was..... whatever (basically meh).
Much of the day to day drills I'd imagine for most teams are run by the assistants so if development consistently occurs in a postion group in a particular program over a period of time that assistant coach will/should get positive shine. Really the only sports where assistant coaches get considerable press is football and baseball. Most other sports including volleyball the assistant is unknown outside of the program in question unless its maybe huge nerds of the sport.

Baylor x3, Florida, Minnesota x3, Maryland, Purdue x2, Texas, Marquette, Ohio St., Penn St., Washington x2, Stanford, Iowa, Illinois x2, Michigan All of these teams have beat Wisconsin in the same span that Nebraska has gone 0-11 to Wisconsin. Of course, some these losses are to very good, highly ranked, even Championship teams. But Nebraska has been right there all of those years, and I don’t think it’s a stretch to say Nebraska could’ve won at least half of those games, given some of the other losses Wisconsin had been dealt.

I grabbed this from BigHuskerGuy's post a couple of pages back. I think it nicely shows that most of the matches could have gone either way; a point here, point there changes everything:
A big thing with this young Husker team is they are closing out sets much better than recent past Husker teams. That gives me hope. Did a little research and in the last 5 matches (you’re welcome Sporty) Wisconsin won 15 sets. 8 of those 15 were won by 2 points (-23,23,24,23,23,24,29,23). Absolutely brutal. Nebraska has won 4 sets and only one was a 2 point win (-21,14,22,23).
The young Huskers didn't have to suffer through those nail biters over and over again, only to lose. A spotless mind might be just the ticket. They just have to adjust to 6' 9" and 6' 7" upfront.

Vicious circle? Perhaps. If we continue to lose to Wisconsin, we just keep replaying the same old narrative, and history repeats itself.

It’s time for Nebraska to beat Wisconsin. A loss will just lead to another loss, and the circle repeats. End it.

It's fascinating to me in this 10-match Wisconsin winning streak, the Badgers have won 9 of the 10 deuce games the teams have played.

Would be interested in how many sets Nebraska was up or tied after 20 points in that span… It has to be huge, because even during the string of Wisconsin sweeps it was always close til 20. This team can definitely be a re-set of that trend.

Hate to be a negative nelly, but I just don't see Nebraska being victorious here without Krause. Really bummed for her, she's been playing such good volleyball and had tons of momentum going into this huge matchup.
Not excited about having to manifest some miracle match from Ally, but I guess that's where we're at lol.
