This move makes sense for Georgia but doesn't make sense to me for Trevor.... This makes me think something else happened there, especially when they then elevated a coach who had been there for barely two weeks to "acting head coach" or whatever the title is. Or is this just me? Hey, we are going to add a bunch of scholarships and pay our players, mostly using money that was earmarked for teams like you. You can suck it up and like it, or you can join us on the dark side? I don't imagine it was quite that blunt but you get the idea. Also, it's Athens. Nobody needs a reason to want to move to Athens.

Should we echo this more! Power 4 vs. mid major footing the majority of the bills for back pay to former NCAA players. Power 4 has a future moving forwards and staying relevant to keeping yourself employed, competing for titles, and getting to coach better athletes.

No, liberty has MONEY, they aren’t having to use teams money. “ exceeding 130,000 students for the first time. Total on-campus enrollment stands at a record 15,800 students. Liberty’s online programs hit a record 115,000 students pursuing degrees from across the nation and around the globe.” They have 115,000 students all online so they don’t have to pay for facilities dorms nothing they have adjunct professors that maybe make three or $4000 a class . When cost of attendance came out first school to start paying Liberty was at the front line paying all their teams where other schools currently pay a few of them. The money thing isn’t gonna be a problem for Liberty because of how much money they’re bringing in.

Georgia is going to play players, and add scholarships, and the non-power 4 schools are disproportionately footing the bill. Not a reflection on Liberty individually at all - that's why I said "teams like you."

I don't think Trevor is one of the anti-pay/NIL players side of the fence. In addition, Liberty has more than enough cash to dump into paying players whatever they want anywhere. Like Liberty literally has too much money and easily could have one of the highest budgets for players in the entire NCAA so they're not canning Trevor bc he thinks there won't be money. Most likely outcome is there was a code of conduct violation that wouldn't be anything to anyone at another major university that resulted in dismissal. Despite the recruiting wins he's had, he's kind of squandered a bunch of talent (some to injuries which isnt his fault) but alas the LU Program has high expectations. I don't think Nolan is the long term answer I just think they need to toss a year aside to wait for a better coach.
