What’s the complaint? Successful coach with a good record in the region People here do not like d2 coaches moving up it seems. There were some comments about the hire at GCU even though she is very successful. Yes I remember. She can literally win a national championship, and inevitably someone on VT still wants her to go be a D1 assistant again first. YSU is a program that hasn’t been successful in a long time and there’s confusion that they go and hire a winning coaching? Please be so serious. That’s a clown mindset and I’m sick of hearing it

And just look at all those "great hire" D1 assistants who became D1 head coaches and completely bombed and set the program back 2-3 years. What about a good or bad D1 program assistant coach who became a D2 or D3 head coach. Is that a recipe for success because they moved down? And in the case of GCU, they reached out to her. She was not looking to move on. They saw a quality coach and made the hire.

So I read that Minot State held an open forum for the public to talk to the two finalists and ask them questions while they were on campus. I’ve never heard of that happening before and really curious if people actually showed up and asked them questions.

Listen, on this board there are going to be sour unemployed or re-tread coaches who are miffed because someone was provided an opportunity that did not align with their perceived pecking order of D1 coaching progression. The reality is, those who would be in a “solid D1 role” (in their mind) would probably scoff at this opportunity anyway because it would be a “dead end position”. So folks who have earned the right for the opportunity will most like not win for losing on this board. Congrats to the new hire, I wish them the best of luck!

I’ve never heard of that happening before and really curious if people actually showed up and asked them questions. I have not heard of public forum for volleyball coach either. I have seen and even participated in public forums for AD and even a FB coach. Often times there are open staff (athletic and academic) forums during interview process.

Tornado warning near the Monongahela Tornado as in Cyclone?? Their old TC hasn't been announced anywhere from what I recall.. Monongahela is near WVU, Pitt, RMU? Don't know of any other openings with Pitt or WVU, WVU doesn't have a TC listed, but not sure if that's a possibility. No clue on limitations for staffing at RMU.. cool hint tho! That's just D1, not sure of other levels openings nearby.

King University (Tornado) posted here for a new grad assistant and mentioned they can teach that person Data Volley. Guessing the departing GA did learn DV and is taking the TC gig at WVU?

I always referred to California University of PA as "Harvard on the Mon" and seeing that Peter L. just left Cal U for Frostburg, maybe the Tornado is someone headed to that job opening?
