Well, Wisconsin did in that second match. Luckily for Arkansas, in the NCAA tourney teams only get one chance lol I can totally see how a team playing them the second time would do better tho -- part of their advantage is the shock / surprise factor and the adjustment period it takes to time the shorter hitters, which Wisco did very well in match 2. Watching those matches - and this is just me projecting to some degree - it seemed like Arkansas didn't have as much in the tank following that 5 set grueling duel, whereas Wisconsin with their 6-2 just had fresher legs which helped allow their greater physicality take more of a center stage. But that was just my impression. |

We keep talking about Arkansas, and rightfully so, but I want to point out this match isn't exciting without Tennessee bringing it, too. They have shown resiliency all night long. Just coming up short in set 3 and not able to quite catch up in set 4, either. But 13-12 deficit is anything but a foregone conclusion.
