Yes, Kipp was sick but gutted it out. According to Hambly she likely picked up a virus from Miner (or someone else on campus). Miner was sick before the WSU match and had to skip some practices but managed to make it through the match. I suspect Kipp got an IV after set one which is the reason she wasn't available to start set 2. I think she came back when the score was around 8-6, WSU leading. Or 8-6 UW leading.

Washington’s back court has been working overtime all match I think Barton has a lot of potential but she shouldn’t be passing for Washington. Like Endsley, she should be taken out from the passing rotation. Or leave her in until she gets better.

The passing rotation has been a struggle all year. After Bays and Zilbert it's either Barton or Wilmes as the 3rd passer, and both have struggled at times. Endsely and Pertofsky are a definite step below. There is no one else on the roster who has been even tried as as passer. Actually, no one on this roster besides Bays has ever been a primary passer at the collegiate level. While Bays and Zilbert are good, they are not 2-person-serve-receive-good. So yeah .... "leave her in until she gets better" is really the only option ... (and Zilbert was a HUGE get from the portal for this coaching staff!)

Kami was so impressive in both matches you wouldn’t have even known I'm going to disagree with you a tiny bit. On Friday I thought there were a few times that she bump set a ball that she normally would have set with her hands. I also think there was one ball she doubled when she went low to the floor to hand set it. Today, she seemed to be moving around better and there were at least two sets to Rubin where she had to back pedal that were delivered with A+ location and perfect off her hands.

(and Zilbert was a HUGE get from the portal for this coaching staff!) I think it depends on the opponent. Against Stanford, you need a third receiver. Colorado or Utah, not so much. Still, the more passing reps Barton can get now should pay off down the road.

Not the best match by Oglivie, IMHO. Hope she bounces back. Her serve, however, is my fave in the entire NCAA right now. Such velocity. 6 digs/set isn’t doing it for you? I know, my comment sounded odd but I just thought there were a lot of instances in the match that she was positioned really well but still couldn’t dig some of the Washington hits. She’s not perfect I know… With that being said, she’s a top 5 libero in the nation right now and I am glad she has one more year after this season.

There were a few of those sharp angle hits from UW that Oglivie couldn't dig and shot off her arms. She should have positioned herself better by turning a bit towards her right facing at the hitter. Her hard top spin serves when they land are a thing of beauty. But when they are not, fans like us got so frustrated.😅
