I've been living in NYC during the fall for years and never once thought to go to Rutgers to watch B1G teams play. What is wrong with me. If you’re also a non-driving NYC fan like me, it’s a super easy NJ Transit train ride from Penn Station to New Brunswick then a quick uber or bus over to Jersey Mike’s Arena! Can do it in a little over an hour! Oh so we're bout to be friends?

Maybe this was commented on earlier, but I'm guessing that enormous crowd was there because of Nebraska. They said on the radio broadcast, tickets were free. That helps.

I started flying into Newark and taking the train to NY Penn Station. Much better, in my view.

It’s been said 1000000 times. But we aren’t undefeated without Beason. Incredible weekend for her. PSU - 27 kills - 0.426 Rutgers - 21 kills - 0.475 Yes, and we can thank the mommy who hates Nebraska for getting Beason… gotta love karma.. 🏐

Rutgers is the closest venue for Husker fans in the NYC area to see Nebraska play. And there’s a lot of us up here. Not surprised they broke the previous attendance record. Super exciting for a Rutgers program slowly on the rise and for the sport in general! Was there today as well! Agreed that it was exciting to see a game at Rutgers garner so many fans. The energy in the room was a little meh, but seemed like there were plenty of first time fans there. Big crowds everywhere is a good thing for the conference and for the sport.

Did the Husker fans outnumber the Rutgers fans? If there were 6000+ there tonight and their old record was < 2000 I wouldn't be surprised!

Super exciting for a Rutgers program slowly on the rise and for the sport in general! The stadium match has a lot to do with this. Their road games have been breaking records left and right. Great for volleyball. I think the curiosity to see them in person has been crazy.

We should also provide a wee bit of context to the attendance at the match today. There is a lot o talk about having over 6700 to a volleyball match is a sign of the growth of Rutgers volleyball ball, and they are much better than they have been, a dramatic improvement in every aspect of the program since they hired Caitlin Schweihofer as their coach. So I am sure there is more interest, but the had a match on Friday and drew a crow of 719.
At the minimum a third of the crowd was wearing Nebraska attire. Then there were scores and scores of high school teams who were there. They did a good job of promoting the match by having flyers all over the campus/Piscataway area that labeled the Nebraska match a “red out” match…. So it was somewhat difficult to tell unless there was a “R” or “N” on their clothes. The point is, at least a couple thousand Nebraska fans came out of the woodwork. And afterwards a large portion of the young girls stayed around to get a glimpse of the Nebraska players.
America has a new team. . .

Best to just drop it. i agree about the "drop it" scenario, so one last question please. i thought that the "momma" comment was about WL not liking nebraska. i am not sure why she wouldn't, but that is her choice if that is so. am i misreading something there.... loved having her in Lincoln, she was great to watch.

Possibly part of the HS draw might be that 4 starters, all key game changers, are FRESHMAN. Just one year older than the HS players. And they are outplaying experienced college players to get the NE team to 23-0. It's actually kind of hard to grasp. GBR!
