Even with a lead, Illinois just does not look as good as they did during that win streak. Lots of missed hits, miscommunications, and tooled blocks. Hope we can get it figured out.

Is Terry coming back for her extra year? I would prefer to not see her kill the Hawks twice a year😥

Mosher needs to go to Burbage more frequently out of system. What makes you say that? I'm not contradicting you or anything, just interested in your thought. Opposing middle blockers cheat towards Terry every time the ball goes out of system. On at least one occasion Iowa threw up a triple block. Burbage will have single block opportunities and it will cause the middle blocker to hopefully hesitate, not know where the set is going.

I'm going to add two things. Mosher sets a nice ball to the right side as shown by the slides she sets Collins. On the other hand, for a right handed hitter the ball travelling to the right side from behind the 10 foot line is a difficult set to hit - they don't have great vision and the ball travels across their body to get to their hitting arm. Burbage does a good job hitting those balls coming from behind her.

I guess I'm just unconcerned if they don't look as crisp as they did during the big win streak. Those last three matches (Indiana, Purdue, and Northwestern) were against teams that were really clicking and the Illini rose to that level and more. The Hawks aren't sharp tonight so it's more a game of scrapping and I feel like the Illini are scrapping well along with them, doing what they need to do to compete. Do you see it differently?

Totally agree with that outlook, it's easy to play to the level of your opponent! I guess I was kind of hoping we would come out looking fantastic and ready to take on these final 6 games which are crucial for us. Still time to rise to that level though, you're right. Will just have to be sharper for Nebraska on Sunday!

Sure hope Raina's okay! She elevates so much on the block.
EDIT: Nice ovation from the Hawkeye crowd when Raina got back in play.

Feel like it's a much better matchup for us than the Wisconsin wall we just faced.

Thanks for the explanation. I do think Kayla does really well when she can get into a rhythm- nice when she can get a high volume of sets.

Is Taylor dressed? I can't tell as the team is so far away from the court.
