Speaking of UH’s offensive struggles, the first point of the third set is a case in point. It took the Wahine seven swings to put the ball down. Guersching alone took four. None of the seven were tips or whiffs. Six were well-set and resulted in good hard spikes. And the ball just kept coming back up, until Kennedi finally ended the rally. It’s great that the Wahine got the point but it took so much energy to find the floor. And sequences like that are huge for the opponent’s confidence. I think the silver lining is that many Hawaii hitters took multiple swings and didn't make a hitting error. The unforced hitting errors have been a glaring issue for the Wahine this season. |

YES, this is exactly the same thing that has been going on recently with Washington State--too many "soft" attempts that give the other team momentum. I would rather the attacker take a smart, aggressive swing and challenge the block or defense for the point. |

Riley looks better as an opposite lol She's always had that line shot from the opposite. Even as a freshman that was her go-to when swinging there. |
