In a season of really bad volleyball, this might have been Michigan's worst performance yet. Disappointing weekend.

That was not what I thought I would see. Expected more from Michigan. Injuries and such played a part. Illinois has come on strong in November. Can they win out?

Is it possible for an Illini fan to feel sorry for a Michigan athletic team? I came very close during this match...mostly because of my respect and memories of the UM head coach Erin Virtue. Very fond memories of her stellar play as Illinois' setter. This is what Karch Kiraly, head coach for the USA Women's National Team. had to say about Coach Virtue, "Over her six years with our USA Women's National Team program, Erin's impact has been immeasurable. Search as you might, you will not find a better person and a better coach. We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with her through the finish of this Olympic cycle, and we can't wait to watch where she leads the Wolverines." |

 I knew it was going to be a lucky night. First, during warm-ups I almost caught Brooke Mosher's little volleyball that she threw at her introduction. Second, I did catch this tee during the t-shirt toss later in the match. First time ever! |

Chopra showed up in Lincoln last night in a boot, so unlikely to see her. Scottee Johnson will fill in as serving specialist. McBurrow has been in concussion protocol; Simmons probably in at OPP. Go Blue!
