UCSB is in the NCAA Tournament. The BWC will have 2 teams in the NCAA Tournament. UCSB, plus the winner of the BWC Tournament.

Great match. Back and forth. Congrats to the Beach. So what are UCSB's chances at an at large bid? SB is in the tourney

Glenn ends it! 15-12 LB to the championship match over UCSB! Nat Glenn played like an All-American opposite with 19 kills hitting .452, 3 aces and 4 blocks. I believe she was flatlining it after the first 2 sets with 5 kills and 5 errors and went on an absolute tear! Congrats to the Beach! Showing why she was recruited in the pool of players to replace Stephanie Samedy, just took a bit to get there.

LB needed that career match from her this evening!

Great match. Back and forth. Congrats to the Beach. So what are UCSB's chances at an at large bid? Their chances for an at-large bid are pretty likely, though they are on the bubble with this loss. Their RPI and record is good, though they are light on their top 50 wins with Pepperdine and Drake. If Hawaii wins the tournament and cracks into the top 50 in RPI, that would add two additional top 50 wins which would make them a lock for an at-large bid imo Santa Barbara has 2 top 50 ROAD wins. Santa Barbara was 6-1 vs. Beach, Poly, Hawaii with three road wins. SB still isn't even in the bubble yet. they have one bad loss, to Irvine, on the road, while missing two all BW players. it would be the worst snub in a decade or more if they are left out granted, their schedule was maybe a couple top 50 teams short of optimal, but then Beach and Hawaii not being in the top 50 was part of that.

What happened to UCSB? Injuries to key players or was the Beach just too fast for them?

I do think that they are in, but I wouldn't say they are a 100% lock, especially with the stolen at-large bids from Utah State and St. John's upsetting Marquette in the BE semifinals.

the key in that 5th set was Beach siding out on Ohwebete's serve, with SB not winning a point on her serve. Ohwebete served SB to that 4th set run.
had SB got a couple of points then, Beach would have been fighting uphill. Beach had a good rotation in after that, and even had Glenn up next to serve when the match ended. Had Glenn served and rotated out, SB would have had a big advantage. they never got back to the Lesiak front row rotation.
Beach really needs more points out of Lesiak and Bacon, but Lesiak is not too accurate and Bacon doesn't really have a fast arm swing. It's why Beach will even set Meyer some in the front row.
have to credit Lesiak though with her soft short serve, SB had difficulty getting their fast offense and better swings against it, she had that nice run off of to get a big lead in the 5th.
but this was Natalie Glenn night, that 1st set serve out was clutch. especially after blowing a big lead.
