I don’t doubt at all that you a stalking social media to that extent where you think your sample size speaks for the majority That’s sort of a circular insult. “I bet you’re stalking 24/7” would be strengthened by “so much that *I* think your opinion is the majority” But anyway who ever said this would affect ‘the majority?’ I think you maybe misinterpreted someone thinking that some athletes’ decisions may be impacted and you couldn’t bare not being right so you tried coming up with an insult that doesn’t even make sense. “I bet you think your opinion is the majority” would make more sense if you think someone only read one social media post and came forward with it claiming it’s the majority opinion. Mmmm I actually was just meeting sarcasm with more sarcasm. It’s not that deep.

Right, no athletes care about this, except for the ones on social media who say they care about it, and the ones who don’t want to gripe publicly, but tell their club coaches and recruiting advisors they are thinking about it, and the lack of a straight answer on what the new schedules and travel arrangements will look like… But when the coaches repeat those concerns on here, it absolutely has nothing to do with the athletes! What volleyball athletes are posting on social media about being against switching from the PAC to the B1G? Can you please point me to them? I've heard this refrain but I only got a stray post or two from softball players. Besides being a completely different sport, those athletes were downgrading from a premier conference to much weaker ones and were AZ/CA student-athletes for whom realignment meant they lost the chance to play conference games at "home." This is also something I was thinking about. Volleyball as a whole will be absolutely fine. Softball is getting absolutely shafted as far as the conference downgrade AND having to face Bahl for 2 years if they have Nebraska in the schedule lol

I just haven't even heard anything about volleyball players/recruits for the 4 West Coast school being unhappy with the B1G move. Esp. in light of the alternatives (as in, the legacy PAC-12 is gone, so another option is required).

I’d definitely use travel to persuade an athlete to not go to USC, UCLA, Oregon, or Washington

I hope there are still some top level players that could choose to stay in the WCC. I do think some top-level West coast talent might stay in the WCC (particularly those looking for a religious aspect). Maybe Long Beach State keeps some locals as they are trending up. But, I think these numbers will be very small (and already are) I guess it depends on what you consider top-level. Aside from USD's grand transfer all star team, is anybody turning down an offer from USC/UCLA/Washington/Oregon/Stanford to go to a Big West or WCC program? It depends on what an athlete wants. Some Student Athletes will be attracted to the West Coast. Then it's a matter of what they want. I think the WCC/Big West has an arguably small niche in getting transfers who have played a couple years, might not really care for teh amount of travel after a couple of years (the WCC and Big West schools really easy travel, aside from Hawaii which is probably more a selling point for once in a conference season). Maybe combined with the religious aspect of the WCC or academics for a number of Big West schools or well regarded coaches (UC & Cal Poly degrees - yes those things are still considered by players). LMU, Pepperdine, San Diego, Cal Poly, Hawaii, UCSB, Beach while not currently elite top 20 this year, certainly are solid VB programs and mostly will have a number of P5 program opponents in non- conference. The travel will be a really stark contrast. All in one time zone, lots of 1 hour bus rides or 45 minute plane flights for most matches. Yeah, the really super elite players will not care. Some may look at it as a different type of opportunity. Not every person gets enamored with going to a football school. Stanford/Cal in particular. The Degree is great, that travel in the ACC though really will stand out.

Vernon could help a lot of teams. OSU over the years alternatingly asked her to do too much and too little. She can score though.
