Agreed, congrats Huskers for making the Big 10 competitive again. Hope the SEC can get the luxury of a new champion. The top’s been stagnant for far too long 😉 Agreed, down with Floridanow why r we in it

She only hit 0.200 though. Lots of errors. I've seen her just not be able to miss. They were lucky in that I didn't think they weren't playing that well the last two sets of the match, and they had to ride Gillen hard. A run right at the end of a short set got them over the line though. That was the entire difference in points. Only .200? How much higher does she need to hit to "get going" with almost 4 kills/set? Florida's block was causing Arkansas's shorter hitters to make errors, that's kind of Arkansas's Achilles heel. Hell, her offensive numbers were pretty close to Martin's for Florida, would you say she didn't get going?
Definitely not Head's best match, but damn, our standards are high, especially against a team (Florida) that matches up well with Arkansas.
All I said was that she didn't "get going." You've interpreted that as some incredible put down. All I mean is that I've seen her carry this team more often than not, and that match she did not. I don't care if she gets 19 kills if half of those are errors. That was her 3rd worst HP performance of the SEC season against a statistically middling Florida defense although with a decent block. Sure Arkansas was undersized, but that's been true the whole year and they are still 3rd in both HP and Kills. They manhandled the gators just a few weeks ago. My take was that the setting was off for the hogs for long periods, and they were saved by a fearless OH often scoring efficiently off of wildly OOS sets. I don't think that will work against Kentucky. They will need to play better. They play a very fast offense so you expect some off days.

I didn't interpret it as some incredible put down. I just don't think it's accurate.
I will take my 5'10" outside hitting .200 on 50 swings with almost 4 kills/set against arguably the best blocking team in the SEC. She was the second best player on the floor for Arkansas against Florida.
And you're right -- Arkansas doesn't win matches OOS. That's not what they're built for.

Arkansas. You have to do this. You're backing them by a razor thin margin or are you going whole hog? I never do anything half assed. Me and that whole hog are riding these dragon lit candles to victory.

I’m torn cause I love both teams but it would be kinda cute for Arkansas to win. Especially since they’re graduating a lot of key players after this season so this is probably the year to win the SEC if they’re gonna do it

I am loving this tear Kentucky is on but would also love to see the celebration of the hogs with a win.

Cartwright really beat up on the Gators in Gainesville (12-4-23 for .348), so they put a lot of focus on defending her this match. It mostly worked, but she scored several of the Hogs final points in their 5-point run to win set 5 (with Gillen in the back row). Overall, her numbers were meh, but she delivered when it counted. IMO.

I hope a deep run will convince goetzinger to come back next year, she's improved so much Are we sure there would be a scholarship for her? If she doesn't, we will be thin in the middle department.

Are we sure there would be a scholarship for her? If she doesn't, we will be thin in the middle department. If they don't have a scholarship available, they'll just take a year from a libero (or another roster member) to whom they committed her latter 2 years of school. That's "the way" unfortunately. Libero/other consents or looks elsewhere if they strongly need the scholarship.
