Definitely rooting for the Gillens in this one. It's going to be a hard task for them, though. Arkansas struggled at times against Florida. Head and Cartwright never got going, the middle was not effective and Hogues setting got a bit wonky. It was not their best performance and they were a bit lucky to win. They'll have to play better this match.

It’s more than past time for someone new to win the SEC. GO HOGS!!! Completely agree -- programs winning multiple conference titles in a row is a bad thing.

Agreed, congrats Huskers for making the Big 10 competitive again. Hope the SEC can get the luxury of a new champion. The top’s been stagnant for far too long 😉 |

I also wouldn't say they were lucky. More total points, kills and a higher hitting percentage doesn't equal luck to me. Their offense was just enough to overcome Florida's blocking.

She only hit 0.200 though. Lots of errors. I've seen her just not be able to miss. They were lucky in that I didn't think they weren't playing that well the last two sets of the match, and they had to ride Gillen hard. A run right at the end of a short set got them over the line though. That was the entire difference in points. |

Florida's block was causing Arkansas's shorter hitters to make errors, that's kind of Arkansas's Achilles heel. Hell, her offensive numbers were pretty close to Martin's for Florida, would you say she didn't get going?
Definitely not Head's best match, but damn, our standards are high, especially against a team (Florida) that matches up well with Arkansas.
