Oh thank god Arkansas won to save our top 10 wins I think it's dumb that we have to even consider these type of things. I mean, it shouldn't matter THAT much if a team is #10 or #12-#13. But like last year - the difference in a regional easily could have been USC at #25 and BYU at #26 gave Stanford 2x more T25 wins compared to San Diego getting 2x more for BYU. That's like a 4-win swing. With what the committee said in the bracket interview though - they did mention USD's only 'two' T25 wins, they would have had 4 if BYU was 25 instead of 26. So it makes me think these things really matter, which is wild.

Arkansas really is one of the most inconsistent teams in the nation I think they are one of the most consistent. They are 0-4 versus the top teams they've played (Kentucky and Wisconsin x2). They are 25-1 versus the rest of their schedule, with one loss at Georgia. That's about as consistent as you can get.

Arkansas really is one of the most inconsistent teams in the nation I think they're a little overrated imo, their best win is Tennessee who's best win is a Rutherfordless Kentucky who then ended up sweeping Tennessee later in the season... Both Tenn/AK went 5 with Wisconsin but were not able to pull it out, so ig there's that They both had a pretty soft noncon, so it's going to be really interesting how they both do in the tourney.

Personally I just think for the #9 team in the country they’re a little hit or miss

I wonder if it’s much less ‘inconsistent’ and much more what kind of team they are. They have 3, 6 rotation kids listed under 6’ including two of their incredibly high volume pin hitters and their setter who blocks in right front. And their higher volume Middle Blocker is 6’1 with shoes on. It’s really hard to beat teams with that kind of lineup. . . Really really hard. . And they did it 25 TIMES. The times they haven’t won, except arguably Georgia, are against rosters that are highly skilled and towering over them in physicality. And two of those went 5 sets. This team can play, they’re just really small and they pay a tax on that against some kinds of opponents.

They are fighters and play nearly the same 7 girls, plus they throw in one or two others to serve. It’s a blessing and a curse to trust your core group so much. Sometimes, they just don’t seem to have legs left after jumping so much and trying to get through the big blocks of their opponents. Hogue is a really good and athletic setter but in system, the opponent knows the ball is going to the OH’s so the block is camped there, yet they are still getting almost every ball set to them. Their middles should be used more, and that would open things up for the pins. I love Gillen’s fire and aggression. I hope they compete well in the tournament. They looked better in sets 2 and 3 tonight and Auburn played well, after losing so badly the first time they played.

Arkansas IS tired. Their schedule has been ridiculous. The SEC office clearly hates them. All the other SEC VB matches are tomorrow, but because the Iron Bowl is on the Plains this year, this match had to be played Friday.
