Out of all the first year coaches in the pac 12, Stubbs inherited the strongest group of pin hitters, a pac 12 FOY, a number 2 recruit and another top 20 player. She can’t coach at NC State and still can’t coach today out of any of the players referenced, can you name a single one that can help in serve receive? youre overrating the whole roster based on HS ratings of a couple pins. look, we were worse than expectations, but we have ZERO PASSERS on the entire roster with the departure of Hiapo, Dilara, Ellman, and then eventually Morse. zero liberos with any sort of real playing time, zero setters with any sort of real playing time, and one middle that ever played real time. a bunch of high power pins can’t win games if they can’t pass, no matter their high school ranking lol, especially when Jaelyn was playing on a hurt foot.

With a better pin passer and some better defense, this team can definitely do better next year, especially in the Big 12 where there are worse teams than this current one. They will not be in the top group possibly, but definitely not the bottom few teams either.
