Impressed so far! And this is all without Madi! Yes, but that was the equivalent of beating up on a high-school / club team... I was hoping that JE would play a set with all Freshman / reshirted Fr (other than setter) to compare Yeah I had thought we would be playing the senior club teams, but that doesn't make sense--they're gone after the season. Ilkin is playing in VNL as is Cuttino, and Logan is on vacay.

For anyone who missed it or wants to rewatch it. Sorry in advance, the feed paused for me twice unfortunately so it's not seamless.

End of an era.
Getting absorbed into either the Big 10 or the SEC has an air of inevitability about it at this point, and the implementation of LHN in terms of distribution was flat out awful, but it sure was a differentiator.
I’m going to miss having access to it terribly. Ah well. Just add it to the list.

Man, I just kind of assumed we’d take it to TCU to win the national championship in tennis. That’s a bummer.

Man, I just kind of assumed we’d take it to TCU to win the national championship in tennis. That’s a bummer. Texas is 2-2 against TCU on the year, the losses were both 3-4, and the wins were both 4-0. TCU is not a better team. They were just slightly better today. Health and conditions all played a role. Winds of 20+ with gust of 30+ for most of the match. Texas had a players dealing with injury, TCU was finally healthy. Texas got them in the Conference Championship, and TCU got them in the National Championship. Texas was 1 set away in a match that could have gone either way.

For anyone who missed it or wants to rewatch it. Sorry in advance, the feed paused for me twice unfortunately so it's not seamless. I guess it’s fine to get excited to see players you don’t otherwise see on the court, but this is not competition for a team like Texas…not even close. Other than serve, this is closer to a 17’s USAV open team than any quality college team. The TAV 15’s team could make a match against this team.

Yeah, but this trip is less about the competition and more about the experience traveling overseas together. As fans it’s about the long wait for the regular season to start up. This will be nice filler until recruiting starts up June 15 and then fall practices start. With Skinner at VNL, Swindle’s broken nose, and Whitney Lauenstein recovering, there’s a lot of opportunities for other players to see a lot of time on the floor. It sure was interesting to me to see Kahahawai try her hand at a jump serve. I’m not sure we’ve seen one of those since Micaya White was delivering her feast or famine serves.

Spring ball, summer exhibitions etc. are things to talk about, but also, reading some of these comments (before watching), made it sound like Texas was "impressive" against a team of some sort of equal footing, and that's just nowhere near the case here. Comments: "Dev's line shot is so money", "Devin's line shot is ridiculous!", "Devin is seeing the block well and hitting with confidence, especially her line shot." "Devin looks amazing!, "Dev looking so good", ""oh devin! that line!", ....yet when you watch it, Devin K. was literally hitting at a window of about 2-3 feet for almost all of her line shots with no hands in front of her. She wasn't doing anything that tons of D1 pins wouldn't also be able to do.

I think a lot of fans are rooting for her but unfortunately, she is on a team that is loaded and when fall comes, she will probably be in a reserve role again. I think she needs to think long and hard on whether she wants to spend another year(3rd year) being a reserve or move on to a team where she can get 20-30 swings a match and be a “go to” type of player. If she chooses to stay and again get caught behind all the big time players she will only have one year to play and one year to make an impact. That kinda rough when she was a top 10 player coming out of HS. With Madi Skinner, Jenna Wenaas, and Regan Rutherford in front of you, it will be a tough battle for PT.
