i had a thought last night. i've been attending Texas home matches since 2011 and i think erik has said the same thing and made the same motions with his hands every single time he gets up to say something to the front row blockers If he were to change, that would be like you being confident before a match. Don't mess with the mojo.

Did I see an interview with Rutherford where she said she writes right-handed??? (don't think I imagined it...) Not that the announcers always get it right, or that my memory always gets it right, but what I heard during a broadcast was that she is a natural righty but her parents taught her to play sports left handed. As hornfanaustin mentioned there is the natural advantage for batting, but for other sports I don't know what reasons her parents would have had. Personally I do virtually everything right handed but found using a right handed hockey stick unbearably awkward, and a left handed stick completely natural. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ In basketball, you want to be proficient dribbling with your left hand (as well as your right one) and shooting layups from the left side with your left hand. I guess in tennis, might be an advantage because players don't play near as many left-handers and likely the ball has a different spin than those from right handed players. In golf, I assume courses are set up assuming right handed players but I don't know if that gives a left hander an advantage or penalizes them (or neither).

Will do. I'm waiting on NCAA to update their web site with the stats of the SC game.

So, were there any changes in our personnel (subs/rotations) last night compared to the previous match at LSU?

in the first set vs. south carolina, Texas had fought back to 20-19.
on the next point, jenna gets blocked but ayden covers. the ball goes out to devin and she puts it away
fantastic job by ayden to keep that ball in play

This is super interesting to me. The hitting efficiency is high, but the team attacks per set are low. What does that mean - they are OOS and freeball a lot?

I can't make sense of these stats either lol how the h is florida scoring most of its points? through aces? their blocking is low and they have a high opp hitting percentage.

Points actively scored per set (kills/set + aces/set + blocks/set) are similar for both teams. Texas: 17.16 Florida: 17.45 They don't get to 25 points every set, and their opponents make errors.
