Now that Texas has settled into the 6-2, they look solidly in the second tier of teams in the country. Not quite Nebraska, PSU, Pitt level, but very much comparable with an Oregon, Wisconsin, Creighton level team. With plenty of time to keep getting better! Creighton is a tier above this group but I agree with the sentiment

Creighton is a tier above this group but I agree with the sentiment I could see that, I might just have some battered blue jay syndrome in doubting their ability to win a big time close game.

That was a tough start to conference play with all the road matches, and Texas going 15-1 in sets is fantastic!

1. Attendance at Kentucky was 4,834. Rough eyeball average shows they usually pull in about 3,200. The Texas effect is in effect! 2. Sill no BIC. Jenna must not be a reliable option to try the BIC. 3. 14 blocks. I've missed you Texas Block 4. It's always good to play a team that has more SE than us. Always good. 5. Devin! Who I always thought she would be! 6. I was thinking it must be kinda weird to play against one of your former teammates (Sun, Parra), but to play against two of your former teammates in the same game? 7. They were showing that picture of Averi Skinner all smiles with Craig Skinner at the Olympics. But Averi Skinner transferred her bonus year as well. 8. When the announcers talked about the "growing number of programs using the 6-2", I had to call bull on that.
9. They showed that newpaper headline about Kentucky winning 12 straight SEC titles. Yeah. Well meet the new boss, different from the old boss. 10. Thinking that Kentucky, with Texas visiting, drew more than Gregory can hold. Yet, the huge serving space and enough sideline space to necessitate roped off stanchions doesn't give them any type of home court advantage. Exactly the reason why JE doesn't want to play games in Moody.

Lots of great things to take from this W.
I’m loving our blocking numbers recently.
Still think our lefts need to be a bit more terminal and would love to see us clean up, idk, just the few “silly” mistakes that we seem to have every now and then.
But, I like where we are at. We may very well drop another match before the tourney starts, but I think we’ve shown that we could power the rest of the way through. If we are able to go through the SEC undefeated, I think we could be in a position for a seed. But seed or no seed, I don’t think anyone would want to face us during the tourney.
Still a lot more volleyball to go, but I’m liking where we are at!!!

Averi did not have her best game, missing some digs she should have had, even though she had 7 or so. Ella had a great game. Some things coming together. Middles looking much better but are still lagging in blocking the quick sets. Didn't get the bic. I think they are a top tier team since they aren't playing all out. Don't know if it's good they are so relaxed.
