Our defense and passing is not good. So many line balls were not dug, we should have been ready given Carlsons size. Seemed like our defense were in the wrong spot (think part of this is the blocking but at times players were on top of each other). Would love to see the grad middle in for Ames. Grad middle is really only there for practice. No offense and all respect, she isn't quite at the level needed to play at Texas, including in current form |

Hate to say that I was right again but the passing on this team is the main issue. Halter who's their best passer had a horrible game.

Is JE purposely pushing Byrd to transfer? Its hard to believe that she is worse than Wennas in the front row. Also why is Reese playing left back, at least try her in middle back. I still believe in this team but its so hard, im not use to us playing like this. Someone in the locking room need to get in each players face and push they buttons like O’Neal would. o'neal in players faces? what Do you not remember the 2022 match against USD? When down in the first set, she told the team to get it together. Im not saying to be rude but just light a fire. |

I really feel for the players rn. It seems a lot of the recent struggle is mental, especially after losing 3 matches in a row after being up 2-1. Maybe the next group of road matches will be good for them–they were playing so well in those early SEC road games, and that could be what they need to get their confidence back.

So if we drop to 12ish, that means we would probably play like Louisville/PSU/Creighton in the Sweet 16? When was the last time we were the underdog in the Sweet 16? 2010?

Honestly - I saw spurts of brilliance in the 5-1 though today. I’m honestly ok with the loss if it means we are figuring out connections and defense in the 5-1. Haven’t looked at the stats, but seems like the block didn’t drop off tremendously with Carlson up there, more that the back row d was off.
Feel like Elite 8 is our ceiling this season, which feels disappointing. But I guess that means we’re pretty spoiled.

Amazing hitter, poor blocker. #12 has 27 kills. That's why I'm asking is offence that much more important than defense? Lost this one. Shelton exclusively hit cross court. that’s not Reagan’s responsibility. Halter was completely out of position today OK. Sure. Why was she able to? With nothing to lose, let's see a 5-1 with Ella and Devin. At least one set. They need a spark. Last year they played for each other. This year, I'm not sure. They have everything and everyone they need to be contenders. Will keep watching and cheering and shaking my head. They looked crushed in the line for "Eyes of Texas". Go Horns |
