Someone did. I specifically prefaced my comments with "when under pressure" so I do think you missed the point, and for some reason took it personally or something. that’s why i brought up ella — our other option. averi under pressure puts up a much more hittable ball IMO, and we’ve seen good progression as a team these last two games with her running the offense. Well I agree with that.

The Rutherford/Devin sub reminds me of Caffey/Bergmark in 2022—where Caffey started, but it was pretty common to see Bergmark come in around the 3rd set. Rutherford's offense is great and has contributed to some of the most dominant sets Texas has won. But when her offense isn't there (even if it's because of passing), she can feel nonexistent. Devin isn't as consistent offensively as Rutherford, but she has a big presence at the net and has proven to be a spark off the bench. I like that both can be utilized—a benefit of the time in the 6-2 imho.
Also, it looked like they were doing a version of the "Chloe Collins" defense last night when Carlson was front row. The block was a little further in, giving Akana the line shots and Halter sharp cross. They had a lot of balls funneled to them and were digging some heat. Both played very well!

I was wondering how they were doing this! They both had tremendous numbers!

jesus that person is so anti-Carlson it’s insane. are they related to Ella or something? Don't know why you say that. Facts and/or opinions don't signify preference of any kind. everyone analyzes and interprets things differently. Let me ask you this. After seeing setters of other SEC teams do you believe Averi is in the top 5? Not considering her serving. Crownover- ranked 12 Karlen- ranked 4 Grome- ranked 9 Tufono - ranked 30 Chamberlain - ranked 39 waak - ranked 40 Stuckey Parks One day I will live in a world where people are smarter about setter comparisons. Until then I will keep praying.

One day I will live in a world where people are smarter about setter comparisons. Until then I will keep praying. While you're at it, pray for some humility, and tolerance for other people's opinions. I have tolerance for opinions if there’s reasonable stats to argue it. Assists per set is one of the worst ways to statistically compare setters. Unless they have the same passers and hitters it’s a pretty useless metric
