It's kind of an odd choice IMO. That's a lot of B1G in our preseason Maybe we'll make a return trip to Indiana in 2025 for Emma Halter to play in her home state.

For a program like Texas, the goal is to be a regional host come tournament time. I don't really think it will be much of an issue if Texas can walk into the selection Sunday with 3 or less losses, but if we have to start getting into nitty gritty to determine the 4 regional hosts, things could get dicey. That opening match against Wisconsin could be decisive.

Indiana 2023 RPI was 72 Miami 2023 RPI was 37
While I like attending home games that will be a guaranteed win against a team I've never seen before, is great, the risk in having a non-top 4 RPI like....wait...like 2023! Means having to go to Palo Alto as a #2 seed.
But JE has said, and I totally believe him, it's hard to get some top teams to come our house and play us.

Based on viewing other in-state teams' non-conference schedules, it does not appear that we will be playing any of TCU, SMU, Texas State or UTSA. So far, just Baylor in Waco. Maybe Rice.

Indiana’s a big serving team and they’re scrappy, I really like their setter
I think it’s a unique matchup and I’d be relatively surprised if Indiana isn’t <60 in the RPI I think? They should be pretty experienced this year

I might be misunderstanding your meaning, but the main reasons we weren't a #1 seed in 2023 were: - no wins against RPI Top 10 teams (but we had the opportunity at home against Stanford and Washington State) - losing matches on the road against teams (Long Beach State and Kansas State) who did not make the NCAA tournament - Ohio State and Minnesota not being nearly as strong as they were in 2022 - relatively weak Big 12 conference (teams we beat like BYU, Baylor, and Kansas were marginal RPI Top 25 teams, IIRC) texassports.com/sports/womens-volleyball/schedule/2023
