I find it interesting though because I thought Wenaas played really well set 3. if Wenaas is the starter which we assume she is, I think you almost have to lean on Carlson to start, right? I mean she looked like two different players in set 3 and 4 from what I remember Was it setting though? It seemed like Swindle and Wenaas were connecting earlier in Set 4 but after that timeout (18-12?), I feel like Wenaas started to pass poorly and make poor hitting decisions. I could be wrong though! Additionally, even though they lost the second set, the orange team was closer to beating white with Ella setting. so many options😫 first world problems lmao

Maybe, but I don’t think so. I think it was literally Elliott not wanting any video of the team out there for competitive reasons. I recall YouTube taking it down, not the poster doing it voluntarily, but maybe I'm misremembering. Regardless, if Elliot is so paranoid, maybe he should have closed scrimmages - problem solved. No, that’s not correct. The poster put the video up without making it available for public consumption. He DMed those of us who asked and sent us a private link. Then someone posted the link on a different Longhorn site called Hornfans.com (a site I have a long relationship with under a different ownership but have nothing to do with now). A poster on here saw the link and posted it to this site, not realizing there was any secrecy about it. There was some controversy because the link was being posted at all, when it was supposed to be a private affair, so the person who provided the recording simply took it down. No one contacted him. He put the video up as a favor to the community, but he wasn’t interested in anything other than that. Once it received any amount of attention he didn’t want any part of it. There’s some weirdness about Elliott on these things. I don’t care. I think he feels like it’s valuable to have the girls playing in front of a live crowd. It gives an entirely different energy than an empty gym. There’s so little time to get ready, and the non conference is so critical for potential regional host positioning, so instead of an early slate that eases everyone into competition we get Wisconsin right off the bat (and vice versa). That makes the exhibition versus UTSA and the Orange/White scrimmage even more critical. But for someone who has built this program from the ground up, and realized his tremendous vision every step of the way, he certainly has some reluctance when it comes to promotion in a way that people like John Cook and Kelly Sheffield don’t. And that’s okay. I wouldn’t trade him for anyone. He can be a little weird about this stuff. He’s our weird guy, and we love him.

I swear when I went to the Orange and White scrimmage back in like 2020 or 2021 there was an announcement that said no cameras or phone recordings One would think Andrea's statement on her Instagram would be enough for you guys. The sentiment remains the same. Don't post the scrimmage. Unfortunately the request falls on deaf ears, just like when Coach Elliott asks y'all NOT to post Point Texas comments on here and you still proceed to take minutes and post them on here. We won't have nice things if you can't follow the rules both implied and explicit. That doesn't make a lot of sense. Other than 2022, LHN has televised/streamed pretty much every intra-squad scrimmage and exhibition in Spring and August for years. There was a lot of confusion on here why the 2022 Orange White scrimmage in August wasn't aired on LHN; there were definitely announcements made to the fans at the scrimmage not to record any footage of it; not so today. It was televised one year ago in 2023. So, the access to video footage to everyone including opposing coaching staffs has always been easily accessible. So, what made 2022 the exception in so many regards? Was it Jerritt's choice for it not to be televised, or LHN's?

Nothing I'm going to say will make this make sense for you if a Insta reel of the coaches wife explaining why she didn't livestream today and requesting fans to ask for the videos posted to be taken down doesn't connect the dots for you.

Watching Rutherford play backrow before her injury last year she did a great job, and wennas could be replaced by a stable passer such as Akana and then we hide Rutherford in serve recieve! Problem solved

-launstein needs to join the cult & tape her fingers to prove her commitment (get mummified) -wenaas did not have her fingers taped today (but she taped her fingers last season) **one of those outsides better hurry up & tape their fingers soon so we can see who will start this season
-all of mbu tapes their fingers -swindle even tapes her fingers -bic queen is a tape queen

She did not tape her fingers when she first got here, then she baby stepped it. Now she's full on. We never could get Bergmark to do it, but that's okay. The taping of the fingers is important. I'm glad you're bringing this up. We need to keep on it.

Oop, it was the scrimmage 😠how do we accessss No access. We weren't supposed to have access in the first place. Andrea Elliott graciously recorded the UTSA scrimmage for her followers as a way to give fans an opportunity to see the team they otherwise would not have had. However, she only allows live viewings and takes the video down shortly after the scrimmage is completed. This is the way she's handled all the videos she's made of the team. I'm sure it's at the request of her husband, although I've never been told that. It seems blatantly obvious. For the UTSA scrimmage someone recorded the video she made, and posted it up on TikTok. A link was posted here. No one asked Andrea's permission to do that. Andrea recently made a post on her instagram account pointing out the video she made was now posted on this TikTok account and requested her followers to alert the owner of the TikTok account that there's a reason she takes down her scrimmage videos and to please take down the videos on the TikTok page. Which apparently happened very recently. So unless somehow someone else has acquired the video and is willing to post it, and then somehow get the message out it has been reposted again, there's not going to be a way to access the video any more.
