Today thoughts:
1. Angry thought 2. Angry outburst 3. Frustrated outburst 4. Cursing 5. Something very negative 6. Hands in face 7. Shouting into my hands covering my face so as not hurt the eardrums of my neighbors 8. I was not crying! 9. Sigh 10. Angry thought

Not sure why Texas hasn’t tried the 5-2 yet. I have been saying this since Day 1. Carlson is better at set location and the better defender, but she lacks the size to be the front row setter. Swindle has a good block and has the ability to be offensive with her size.
I would even try Devin as OH2.

Shelton exclusively hit cross court. that’s not Reagan’s responsibility. Halter was completely out of position today OK. Sure. Why was she able to? With nothing to lose, let's see a 5-1 with Ella and Devin. At least one set. They need a spark. Last year they played for each other. This year, I'm not sure. They have everything and everyone they need to be contenders. Will keep watching and cheering and shaking my head. They looked crushed in the line for "Eyes of Texas". Go Horns why was she able to hit cross court? I mean we funneled to Halter perfectly. she just wasn’t digging ANYTHING. plus it’s not the pin blockers responsibility to block cross court LOL.

Although these days......what's a crime?

The team reminds me of MN's team last year - chemistry issues causing poor results on the court. Maybe that's not it, but you guys have all the pieces but for some reason, they aren't clicking together. 🤷♂️

In positive news, we saw more BICs than we have all year and after the first set(ish), it looked pretty clean

Honestly - I saw spurts of brilliance in the 5-1 though today. I’m honestly ok with the loss if it means we are figuring out connections and defense in the 5-1. Haven’t looked at the stats, but seems like the block didn’t drop off tremendously with Carlson up there, more that the back row d was off. Feel like Elite 8 is our ceiling this season, which feels disappointing. But I guess that means we’re pretty spoiled. This team still has the roster/ability/talent to win it all in December. They just need to get it together and soon.

We've lost all 5 5-setters this year. In the 5th sets, we scored:7, 11, 16, 10, and 9 points. Not close except for the A&M match. Seem to be running out of gas. Physically and mentally.

10 months ago I would have put all my money on a three-peat. I wonder what the root of the issue is… hmm

Not quite as troubled and the reason is Texas didn’t lose 3 in a row at home to A&M, Missouri and OU on a fluke. All 3 of those teams have better volleyball rosters than Texas. Texas was fortunate to get them to a 5th set. Only thing left is to hope they keep playing hard.

I'm starting to believe that somewhere out there someone has put a curse on this team.
Sad for Longhorn Nation.

It's not like Texas didn't win at A&M in four sets earlier in conference play. We were up on each of those three teams 2 sets to 1; so, "fortunate" doesn't hold water. We never got down 2 sets to none.
