A potential rematch with Pitt should be fuel for a dominant Louisville performance. I’m predicting and manifesting a sweep. Go Cards!

Wright St-
Fun Facts - in 2018 WSU qualified for their first conference tournament in over 10 years by finishing 6th in the final standings. In 2019, the team held the nation's longest winning streak at one point (22 matches I hink) - they won the regular season league and hosted the tournament, losing. The committee rewarded them with an at large - the first ever for the entire WSU athletic program and the first ever for an HL volleyball team. In 2020, they ran the table, going undefeated and won the conference championship, earning a spot in Omaha. The team then secured the first ever win in the NCAA Tournament by beating Samford, losing in the next round to Texas. In 2022, they again ran the table and went undefeated in league play, they also won the HL tournament championship. The 2023 team saw significant losses with graduation of Setter of the Year and Libero of the Year and lost a first team MH to injury. They regrouped and had a rough start but came together in the end to win the HL championship in resounding fashion. UL and WSU played the opening weekend with UL winning the match 3-1.

Callie Martin is a 6-ro passing OPP that can do it all! She runs a 2-ball in Ro-1 (and doesn't pass in Ro-2). I hope she goes out with a bang! She's not the most terminal OPP - but she does a lot for Wright State.

I forgot how much of the bench Louisville used in this match, first set might've been the first time a healthy debeer has ever been taken out due to poor play in her career lol. also forgot they started Sherman, makes me feel a little better about how competitive it was

I forgot how much of the bench Louisville used in this match, first set might've been the first time a healthy debeer has ever been taken out due to poor play in her career lol. also forgot they started Sherman, makes me feel a little better about how competitive it was Watching this and comparing to recent play against Pitt and GT, I think the main difference that stands out to me is the setting. I know that Glock gets a lot of flack, but WOW she has improved since early in this season. Early on she was really struggling to push the ball far out to the pins. A lot of short/inside sets here. Her connections with DeBeer and especially Luper have improved significantly over the season. Other differences I noticed: - Glock’s back row defense has improved too - Luper has gotten much better at OOS attacking - Not having Cresse was a choice. Very glad she earned her place as a starter. - This was a team experimenting with lineups, and looked like they were in each other’s way on the court, like a traffic jam. The Cards have smoothed things significantly along this season. I’m not discounting Wright St. at all, and as we’ve seen this season no victory is given. This is even more true for the tournament. I am confident, however, that at least on our side of the net the Cards have figured things out since this match happened.

Louisville is making their 32nd NCAA tournament appearance. The Cardinals are 108-113 (.489) in sets played since their first appearance in 1986. They have reached:
Runners Up 1 time -- 2022 Final Four 1 time -- 2021 Elite Eight 1 time -- 2019 Sweet Sixteen 5 times -- 1996,1998,2004,2005,2020-21.
Wright State is making their 4th NCAA tournament appearance. The Raiders are 3-9 (.250) in sets played since their first appearance in 2019. Their best finish was reaching the second round in 2020-21.

Only 162 miles separate these two campuses.
