Miami’s saving grace had to be that they swept Georgia Tech twice this season, yeah? (Just wondering if there’s anything else that stands out that puts them in.)

Miami’s saving grace had to be that they swept Georgia Tech twice this season, yeah? (Just wondering if there’s anything else that stands out that puts them in.) I think it's very, very likely that Miami beating NC State was determining of the 'last' spot in the NCAA Tournament. NC State was one spot better in RPI, but several spots better in KPI. Looking at it - I'm really seeing why Ehman was up in arms over NC State (particularly over Stephen F. Austin) If St. John's beat Creighton on the last day of the season, I really wish we know whose bid that would have stolen. It would have been Texas A&M, UCSB, Stephen F. Austin, or Miami-FL. I wish we could know that. The committee wouldn't even tell us who the first team out was - they gave us a freaking 'first EIGHT' out....

What they need is a 3 person team of retired coaches, who is not involved in the selection process until the bracket is completed by the section committee, to then step in look at the bracket and point out the obvious omissions or bizarre inclusions. At that point the committee would reevaluate the outlier picks. Anyone who has studied group think/dynamics understands how these obvious errors occur. The committee spends 30 hours in a room and blind spots develop. There are 3 teams specifically, this year, who were awarded at large bids who aren’t even top 100 teams, and this occurs every year. It’s at the point of being ridiculous.. . but you Al know that. Half of the committee are actually volleyball people: Holly Strauss-O'Brien: SWA at Loyola-Chicago, former head coach at UConn Stacy Kosciak: SWA at Bowling Green, former head coach at UNC Greensboro Amy Crosbie: SWA at Utah State, former Utah State player and assistant coach Kirsten E. McGowan: MVC associate commissioner, former West Texas A&M player

I absolutely agree with everything that trojansc said. But now watch SFA upset Arkansas.

I absolutely agree with everything that trojansc said. But now watch SFA upset Arkansas. It doesn't matter if SFA wins the whole tournament. They don't deserve to be there to play in the first place. End of story. And as much as the team had no say in what happens, I personally hope they get humiliated in straights

I absolutely agree with everything that trojansc said. But now watch SFA upset Arkansas. If I have no other reason/connection to a player/program, I almost always root for the underdog. SFA's athletes are not responsible for the NCAA's committee decision. They should go out there and give it everything they have. I have watched SFA for many years - they are a decent team. I had their libero on my fantasy team last year (Haley Hoang).. they have a really good ball control OH (Pagan) but I don't think they have enough firepower to hang with the big dogs. Bradley is good, but is 3-rotation right-side. That said - Arkansas is a team that gives up some size. That could be a better matchup for SFA than some other schools. Anyway - here is the history of teams that I have projected to be OUT that got in: They are 1-12 in the NCAA Tournament. I don't think this proves anything either way though - it doesn't mean Michigan State should have gotten in (2014) or that Hawaii shouldn't have (2018). These are matches that all of these teams are supposed to lose anyways. 2012 (all teams projected right) 2013 (all teams projected right) 2014 Michigan State won 3-1 over Loyola Marymount, then lost to Stanford 2015 Northern Iowa lost 2-3 to Marquette 2016 (all teams projected correctly) 2017 LSU lost 1-3 to San Diego 2017 High Point lost 0-3 to VCU 2018 Hawaii lost 2-3 to Baylor 2018 Denver lost 0-3 to Utah 2019 VCU lost 1-3 to Cincinnati 2021 Ole Miss lost 0-3 to Creighton 2021 Kansas State lost 0-3 to Florida State 2022 Tennessee lost 2-3 to Purdue 2022 Ball State lost 0-3 Marquette
