Davis parts ways with NW. any speculation on what players would hit the portal?? Rousseau and Dodson were honored on Senior Night. I believe both have eligibility. Would any girls say “Hey Shane is leaving so I wanna leave a Northwestern education”?

I would think Northwestern getting rid of Davis will lead to more players staying than had he not “mutually agreed” to part ways, actually.

Never considered Whit to Creighton...but that's interesting. Just an hour away. Doesn't need to pack up her new family and move away. I'd certainly like to see that over Wisconsin or Texas 🤮 I can't see Whitney L to wisconsin. We already have too many pins and opp switching back to a 5-1. Preaching to the choir, here... I feel very much likewise, re Whitney L, and she finding a slot on the 2024 UW roster. And in addition to what you mentioned, there's also a highly regarded 5-person Class (w/three pins), and a possible (?) return of the vaunted post-redshirt pin Ella Wrobel. But I'm not the Coach. That all being said- the freaky thing is, is that the 'pins cupboard' is currently bare. Anna Smrek's and Devyn Robinson's recent though brief absences exposed us. We're pretty much in fingers-crossed mode now. Especially with our 6-2 again hitting on all cylinders.

got to love the girl who barely plays dragging down the coach who is the only coach at Texas Tech who has taken them to the ncaa tournament in the last 30 years. Classic. got to love the anonymous poster who definitely doesnt have 1% of the knowledge the player does about this situation there's so much more that goes into being a good coach than results Correct, but the results are generally what you’re judged upon, fair or not

Then Robinson and Wrobel. It’s OH where we’ll need somebody to replace TTA next year. We’ll have Orzul and a freshman, but I suspect a transfer will also compete for that role. Meanwhile it looks like Huskers have too many OH next year, so someone would sit. Of the Huskers, I think it’s Battenhorst who is most likely to transfer. Maybe Orr too.

You can train people to pass, you can’t really train the way Robinson can just detonate on balls. I would hope she’d be in the running to play OH opposite Franklin.

My thought is that Batenhorst has gotten a good amount of playing time and has one year left but is still behind Murray and Krause, leaving her with a good resume, an ideal situation where a team has to fill a one year gap, and a motive. Kubik hasn’t gotten any playing time and has two years left, so while she may also have motive, her profile and situation is not as good as Batenhorst’s.

Franklin and Smrek can terminate on OOS high balls, so just passing a 1 is valuable.

I would like to see her stats when swinging on the left. I know when she played at Iowa she was blocked twice and hit out once then they stopped setting her on the left.

I would like to see her stats when swinging on the left. I know when she played at Iowa she was blocked twice and hit out once then they stopped setting her on the left. It’s probably not great. She also probably isn’t training to hit a lot of high outside sets. I’m pretty sure she’s also isn’t at 100%. That doesn’t stop me from taking an extremely dynamic athlete and training her so that I can set her more. She’s spent most of her life playing middle, so yeh, it’ll be an adjustment, but there’s thousands of stories of players changing positions and styles of play to maximize their value. If I’m Sheffield, Its not like I’m training someone completely green, she’s played volleyball for quite a long time now, and she’s excelled wherever else she’s played on the court, what major obstacle can’t she overcome to succeed here?
