Could anyone dive deeper into why this is a significant portal addition? I don’t know much about her as a recruit & she hasn’t played college volleyball yet to my understanding She would have been a Top 10 recruit in 2024 but she reclassed to come in a year early. Redshirted behind Mimi/Gabby last year. She's a very good player already and has high upside.

I see that Stanford women's hoops picked up two undergraduate transfers from Santa Clara and Purdue, respectively. So, doesn't seem like Hambly should have any problems doing the same for his volleyball program.

And they just got Ohwobete from the portal. I don’t blame her for transferring an Acevedo/Ohwobete/Mimi pin trio could’ve been excellent Meh... we'll never know because Acevedo hasn't actually played in college. Also, while I think there is some value in getting your best 7 players on the floor, I do think that position fundamentals also matter. Assuming that any one of these players could just move opposite and develop the footwork and timing necessary to be an elite offensive threat on the RS is a big assumption. Glover has the fundamentals of an opposite down as it what she has been playing, and she is a very good talent in her own right. I dunno if Ulmer's record so far speaks all that highly of his ability to develop players, but I do think he probably is making the right call by sticking with Glover opposite, and having Colyer, Ohwobete, and Acevdeo stay left. Unfortunately for Oregon, that plan didn't didn't sit well with Alex and she (presumably) didn't think she was good enough to secure a spot on the left. She clearly wants to play, which is understandable, and I hope she lands at a school where she can do just that.

Mimi already has experience hitting D balls, that’s like half the battle and way harder than hitting from 2 in my opinion (which she hit from for a half rotation, but I know obviously not the same). I know it’s not her main position but she was really terminal on those D balls. much more so than the left pin
