This has to be red flags to Nicholls. If it’s not, they must just hire anyone down there. Both can be true. I don't think it's a highly sought after position and I doubt they pay much. This was the first year for this coach. Looking at their indoor records, they were bad this year and have been bad for awhile. Might be a case of the coach cleaning house as much as the players not liking the coach. Or the coach raising the demand level to try to improve the team. Are any of the players finding new schools? Appears not much funding for the program. Looking back about 4 years and they've never had more than 1 assistant coach and a trainer is typically the only paid support staff.

Theoretically, has it ever occurred where someone entered the portal in the fall, landed somewhere but decided to leave and enter the portal again in the spring? A similar case happened in football. - Alabama player transfers to Iowa
- Gets $100k in NIL from Iowa
- Collets NIL money, re-enters the portal
- Transfers back to Alabama
Total time at Iowa was 2 months in the offseason.

Total time at Iowa was 2 months in the offseason. Things like this might eventually kill NIL. Collectives can't mandate someone stay after they transfer, as that would be pay-for-play. If enough players pull this sort of thing, collectives are going to have a hard time shelling out big $$$ that goes for naught.

what about the bizarre transfer situation with bru mccoy (wide receiver) usc, texas & then usc again...& then tennessee Aside from the fact that he left USC for Texas and then went back (which is interesting in itself), he could've stayed at USC that second time, had he not been arrested for domestic abuse. He had no choice but to leave.

Yes, even before the portal existed it has happened Yes, it sure did. I recall a vball player (Maggie Revell) transferring from Sam Houston St to Iowa after the fall of 2016 season. Played spring 2017 ball for the Hawks and then transferred to Bradley for fall of 2017 (even though back then she was required to then sit out for fall 2017, which wouldn't be the case now), where she finished out her playing career.

Total time at Iowa was 2 months in the offseason. This situation should be used as an example of never paying players in lump sum and have it paid over time so that player can not take the money and leave. If the player insist on a lump sum, then it’s best the NIL collective move on. The NIL collectives have to protect themselves. I know people like to call this kind of payment a “signing bonus” but if this kind of stuff is happening more often than not, things need to change. At least professional players who have signing bonuses are locked into a team via contract. Colleges players are taking the money and running. Not the same.

what about the bizarre transfer situation with bru mccoy (wide receiver) usc, texas & then usc again...& then tennessee Trying to remember if he transferred from USC to Texas. He either signed with USC, enrolled and attended classes for a few days, and then transferred to Texas for the spring semester or he signed, got a release from his NIL, and enrolled at Texas without having to transfer. He had been back and forth between USC and Texas through most of his recruitment so the events of that spring were shocking, but also not surprising.

Yes, it was definitely a weird sequence of events.
