Bit of an off schedule score for the set point. I'm sure UH will take it.
Well, Stanford showed who they are with that late run. Too little too late but really impressive nonetheless.
UH simply has to get out front of Stanford. They do not have it in them to do to Stanford what Stanford just did to UH.

Not enough to win the set after the huge hole they were in, but hopefully gives them momentum to build on

I’m not used to rabidly rooting against two teams at once

You know, I chose not to go to this match in person, because I thought it would be such a blowout, and the other matches playing at the same time would be closer...

The hitting in that set was .244 for UH and .250 for Stanford. A complete reversal of what we'd seen in the first two sets.
UH had 6 hitting errors in that set after only 3 in the first 2.
Stanford with 4 hitting errors after only 4 in the first two sets.
On the other hand, no service errors for Stanford, which helps to show how meaningless the stat is. Not completely meaningless, but it's emphasized way too much.

I've seen this before from the Cardiac Coogs. Stanford has looked great in some areas, and not so great in others. Their offense has been unbelievable. Their defense has also been unbelievabl...y bad. As Snoop would say. In the 3rd set they sluffed off, a lot of standing around waiting for someone else to make the play, chase the loose ball, etc. Also more tips in third set. But I thought their defense looked fine in first two sets.

But I thought their defense looked fine in first two sets. UH hit well over .300 in that 2nd set. Stanford couldn't go on any runs. The Cougars weren't as efficient as Stanford, but they were pretty darn effective. I think UH scored twice on their serve but it was still a 25-20 win. I don't see it the same way you do.

I don't think anyone said that. But, the stat line certainly was unbelievable - rightfully so in terms of offense. No doubt. I do agree with your initial point about the big picture. The Cardinal offense has popped off and is enjoying a noteworthy performance but the defense hasn't stifled the Cougars either. The scores in the first 2 says blowout but the Cougar offense is saying "give us more chances!"

I believe Houston is challenging Miner's set didn't contact Sauer (as it would be a backrow attack). The R1/R2 ruled that she didn't touch it
(and I'm correct - point Coogs)
