2023 - Fields, 2.07 DPS [with a decent amount of being subbed out] 2022 - Eggleston, 1.77 DPS Not to hate on Logan - she’s the reigning NPOY, so her DPS provide a benchmark for a terminal OH. I know you know that digs per set dont seriously indicate how good/bad a defender is...

Logan was also playing defense alongside Fleck who was defending bf like 72% of the backcourt at all times. Not surprising she’d have fewer digs per set than other OHs who carry a bigger defensive load. Sure. Stats are just numbers and don’t tell the whole story. It doesn’t make the 1.77 DPS untrue. The point is Skylar isn’t a trash defender as some people claim.

It’s the only one we have access to as casual fans.

Texas 2022: - Hit Percentage: .336 - Kills Per Set: 14.4 - Blocks Per Set: 2.5 - Aces Per Set: 1.8 USC 2023: - Hit Percentage: .252 - Kills Per Set: 13.2 - Blocks Per Set: 2.0 - Aces Per Set: 1.4 there's your public stats available to casual fans fwiw by my eye Skylar has definitely gotten better as a defender and is servicable, it's the passing that's the issue. Logan had better passing stats her whole NCAA career and is getting served off the floor pretty easily in pro play. At this point for what Skylar's shown in ball control, I think a move to the right is definitely in her best interest, and it's also in Team USA's best interest.

My point is that Sky is not trash as she was called by other people. I didn’t even mention serve receive.

Stafford had a great match. If Babcock and Stafford both are on, Pitt will be a tough out. Very glad I got to see Fields in person, she is just an amazing athlete. (glad Pitt contained her tho 8) I think dapper Dan should pay the refs to make a couple bad calls against his team early on in the match, it fires them right up!

Exactly. Maddenn55 is just a hater. Another person who just wants to come talk sh*t online. Skylar is amazing. Always has been, always will be and will continue to shine. I’m not a hater lmao. She’s an amazing terminator and blocker. However, her defense and routine first ball touches are not good. That’s a fact She has had 19 double doubles in her career at usc with 10+ digs in those matches. She also only had 18 reception errors the whole season. The other OH on their team had 32. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Thats a fact.

Ok but like that's a bad fact to bring up Fields: 18 reception errors on 196 attempts (9.18% of her receptions, she gets aced) Wijay: 32 reception errors on 484 attempts (6.61% of her receptions, she gets aced)

Pitt fans What happened to Dalton? I remember her being good at WSU I believe Torrey Stafford happened. Dalton played most of last year, until she got hurt. This year she got beat out by an all-american freshman.

I’m pretty sure fields passed below like a 1.8 on the season which is one of the worst passing grades I’ve ever seen from a passer on a top 25 team. Listen my point isn’t to make fields sound like she’s a bad player. But she has to move to the right internationally. She has absolutely no chance on the left. Her passing and middle back defense are just nowhere near that level
