Garr has a decent shot at getting the Libero jersey next year if things stay the same Or even if Cook doesn't think she's ready to be the sole libero and Thibault would still be DS ahead of her, could we see a double libero situation where Garr is the serve receive one? Full disclosure: I have no idea how good Garr's serve receive is.

Dreaming of sweet, sweet passing later tonight. For a future year, perhaps?

Can’t finish under pressure. Lucky we had a big lead against Texas, otherwise we’d be 0-4. It is kind of funny the only team we’ve beaten is Texas though.

Rough match, but this team fought back very well tonight. Having 4 5-setters in a week must be exhausting, and they played better than most teams would have under that kind of schedule.
Really hoping that Shaff’s hand is okay and that it’s not a serious injury! She’ll be getting my POW vote after that triple double!

Tough loss, with lots of questionable decisions. However, end of day, I still trust Cook with his decisions - I think he knows his players best, and if not, his other coaches would be the first to say. All that to say, quite amused seeing how quickly goph fans flip on the girls when we lose vs when we win. They still showed a lot of grit and that they can come back from a 0-2 set deficit. This was only their 4th official game, so they have room to make errors now rather than later. Just hoping to see they clean it up and get ready for the next few games. Choosing to stay positive! And hope Shaffmaster heals quickly!! Ms. Triple queen👑Go gophs!

The three 5 set losses all by two points are really going to test this group’s chemistry I think. I hope they keep battling together. They’ve been talking about how the chemistry is as good as it’s ever been. I hope doubt doesn’t creep in.
Not bad losses by any means. I’m only worried if we don’t take care of business against St Thomas, LIU and in Green Bay. I just hope these hard fought 5th set losses are points of growth rather than something that lives in the back of their brains.
Still rooting so hard for this team. Lots of potential despite known weaknesses. I’m not going to gaslight any fans for entering panic mode or being depressed or frustrated. I definitely went through that last season and adjusted my expectations for this season. In some ways they’re exceeding my expectations despite being 1-3 tbh.
Go Gophers!

Luckily, the rest of the pre-conference schedule should be manageable for Minnesota. Will give them chances to win in fewer sets and iron things out 😊

They looked extremely tired - mentally and physically. 4 tough 5 set matches too close in time.

Auburn at home could still prove to be an interesting test of seeing where we’re at. Wish I felt more confidently that that was a gimme. P4 teams should be licking their chops at a chance to beat Minnesota.

Yes I hadn’t thought about how since last weekend was Sunday and Monday matches, that these were two matches within the same 7-day week. Getting home Tuesday 4am, first day of class, back on the road Thursday. Not making excuses. A loss is a loss. Baylor and TCU earned their wins. But yeah that’s quite a week. Hope it gives the team steely resolve rather than deflates them.

I was thinking not a bad loss as far as TCU being a tournament team, taking sets off Nebraska and Wisconsin, and being worthy of ranking votes. Unlike a Rutgers loss. But if you consider it a bad loss because of the how more than the who, then yeah. The play made some people want to bang their heads against a wall. I really thought we were heading towards being swept.

Another tough loss but this team is fighting and is working together. Lots of positives going into the long season. Chin up gophers, keep at ‘em.
ps. In another thread, I told mpsg***r to f—k off and to troll elsewhere, so if that poster comes here polluting this thread some more, I am to blame
