I will be sad if Crowl and Hanson are indeed leaving but I also think that this would allow Cook some flexibility to reconstruct a roster that would fit better with his coaching style and needs. That obviously go along with some open schoolies too. Absolutely. And the team has so many pins right now, it'd be really nice to even that out with some depth at other positions. Right pins in particular are crowded with Grote, Crowl, Schnichles and Gilk coming in '25. Grote firmly has that starting spot right now and Schnichles is redshirting with her favorite setter coming to play with her next year so Crowl isn't going to see much court time. Wuchs and Landfair are also locked in at OH, it may have been a down year for OH production but any coach would kill to have that pin duo. Hanson is a great player but she's not going to beat them out. Would hate to see either of them go but I would absolutely understand. Reminds me a lot of the Wenaas situation last year |

Nobody talks about the setting backup that will be needed definitely starting 2025. IDK if NG is still around that season or not However, seeing as we have never had the opportunity to see her set in a match, I would think this coaching staff needs to be looking into that. Right now many top 2025 setters have committed, but we will be in need of another setter that season. Look what happened at Florida this year. We will need someone who is willing to be a backup for Stella and can take over the starting position should something happen to Stella. Another reminder....unfortunately, when we used our backup setter this season we did not come up with the results we should have. I'm sure this has been mentioned and discussed several times but when exactly does the portal open and for how long of a window? 1) you generally wouldn’t want to spend on a scholarship on a backup setter. You don’t put resources into players that probably won’t see the court. That limits the caliber of player you’re able to recruit 2) backup setter is often more of a character piece than a highly regarded recruit. You’re not going to find a lot of fab50 kids willing to ride the pine 3) there just flat out aren’t a ton of amazing setters. Stucky was an all-American, you don’t get that by being a bum on the court. So yeh, there’s going to be a drop off, but you don’t really practice those scenarios, because you have limited time coaching your players, and if shaffmaster goes down, well, you kinda know you’re screwed anyways. |

Dinkytown is a Minneapolis neighborhood adjacent to the Twin Cities campus. Dnkytown Athletes is the NIL collective of the UofMN. From the instution that selected the mighty gopher as its fierce nickname for its athletic teams. From the institution that named its sports pavillion after a former Athletic Director who botched the football and basketball hires. Now this same institution is proud to stand behind "Dinkytown" as the name for the big, bad NIL program. |

There's a post in the transfer tea threat insinuating that Nnedi Okammor could be a grad transfer. That would be a huge get for the Gophers considering how lacking they are at middle.
