I’m trying to understand why UH would take team pics without the full team? Hakas and Purcell? It’s not media day yet. Media day usually happened when 2 a days are in session or some time around there. This could be a photo shoot for a program cover or a magazine or something like that. This was not an official UH event. It was a photo shoot from some guy named Nigel G. UH’s official photographer is a middle aged white man who had been working with them for years. Sorry don’t know rhe guy’s name. I don’t think Tali is even back on the island yet. Her IG showed her still in Israel as of yesterday. It is good to see Maddie. I was concerned that she would still be in some kind of brace from her injury. She looks good. Hopefully Maddie continues to get/stay healthy!

Wahine basketball did something similar at Pali lookout last year. Just an FYI the middle aged white guy is Jay Metzger who is the main photographer for UH but Nigel(and Trevor who is seen in the reel) work under him alongside some other students/volunteers. So this was shot by official UH photographers It is strange that Hakas, Purcell and Arquette weren't there though, but like youre saying these arent the "real" media days with headshots and whatnot. Good to see Mili and Maddie with the team now

Only freshman that was missing was Malinah and I can’t really think of a reason why she wouldn’t have been there…. She was at the UH camps just a few days ago, so I find it a bit odd. But yes it’s not their official ones but this is a nice team bonding event or at least social media for the new season. I understand Tali is still in Israel.

Question: is treatment available for unhealthy anti-fan behavior? Answer by Copilot: Yes, there are ways to address unhealthy anti-fan behavior, especially if it becomes obsessive or harmful. Here are some approaches: Therapy: Speaking with a mental health professional can help individuals understand and manage their feelings. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is often effective in addressing obsessive thoughts and behaviors. Support Groups: Joining groups where people share similar experiences can provide a sense of community and help individuals process their feelings in a healthy way. Mindfulness and Stress Management: Techniques such as meditation, yoga, and other stress-relief practices can help manage negative emotions. Hobbies and Interests: Engaging in new activities or rediscovering old hobbies can provide a positive outlet for energy and emotions. Setting Boundaries: Limiting exposure to the subject of their anti-fandom can help reduce negative feelings and behaviors. If someone you know is struggling with this, getting professional help is a good first step. Lmao. This is good. But, it's all about the individual seeking help. What if they don't think they need help, but all of us here on the forum think they do, wheat do we do. I mean not even the MOD's are around as often I would hope to keep posters like wf under control so to speak. Cause this stuff that they post is crazy delulu stuff. 😭🫠 VT Five-0

The highlights of Maddie I've seen of her was a kinda of thin and wiry young lady. She looks like she has taken weight training seriously and now has a D1 level looking body.

There are mental healthcare professionals who can help those suffering from persistent unhealthy anti-fan behavior. Here are a few options recommended by Copilot AI for those in Hawaii: CARE Hawaii, Inc.: They offer comprehensive behavioral health services, including outpatient mental health services for various issues [1]. Hawaii Psychological Association: They provide a locator service to find licensed psychologists and other mental health professionals in Hawaii [2]. Hawaii Medical Services Association (HMSA) Therapists: Therapists in Hawaii can be found in Psychology Today’s directory [3]. [1] carehawaii.com [2] hawaiipsychology.org [3] psychologytoday.com

The NCAA is changing their Women's Volleyball Team rosters to 18, but more importantly, all NCAA teams will be allowed to give out 18 scholarships now, in some way. We all know the Power 5 Conference teams will stock up on players. If Robyn and staff still want to have the Wahine Team in the Upper Level of D1 Women's Volleyball, they need to hit the recruiting trail hard and often. And I do not mean, just on the mainland, but world wide. Just not stay home to coach Club Volleyball, in Hawaii. If Robyn and staff just stays home to coach Club Volleyball, in Hawaii, the Wahine Team will end up being in the lower portion of D1 Volleyball. There is not enough D1 volleyball players to fill out all 18 positions on the Wahine Team now. The question will become, what kind of team does Robyn and staff want to have. One that struggles in the BWC and as a Mid-Major team, or one that is Dominant in the BWC and a Top Mid-Major team. With this new NCAA rule change, Robyn and staff will now have 4 to 5 scholarships to give out for the 2025 Wahine Team. We will all see if Robyn and staff is able, or willing to fully stock the Wahine Team. Or, just continue the status quo, and let the Wahine Team just fall down the so-called Rabbit Hole.

I think that’s good for Hawaii, but I think it would be harder to recruit because there would be so many more scholarships available to other higher-level programs and other conferences.
My only question is that even if we had 18 players not all of them have to have scholarships, correct? So there could be players that are not scholarship and we could be saving for the following year, right?

Teams are not locked into just having 18 players maximum. They can have as many players as they want. They are just allowed to give out 18 scholarships now. The other thing is, just like the Men, they can also, break up a scholarship. By the NCAA doing this, I can see Power 5 teams stock piling players. We could now see Power 5 teams with rosters 25+. This will force Mid-Major Teams to go outside of the United States for players. If Mid-Major teams do not go Outside of the United States for players, they will fall by the waist side, in my opinion. The question is, will Robyn and staff be willing to do that. Robyn and staff will not be able to stock the Wahine Team with players from Hawaii and still be a Top Mid-Major Team, or even a team that is competitive in the BWC.

"As part of the new revenue-sharing model — beginning in 2025-26 academic year — by-sport scholarship restrictions are eliminated, and schools are permitted to offer scholarships to the entirety of their rosters. The new roster limit figures are not final until the approval of House settlement terms. ... Baseball, with a current scholarship restriction of 11.7, is expected to have a roster of 34. Scholarship spots for softball and volleyball, each currently at 12, will increase to 25 and 18, respectively." volleytalk.proboards.com/post/3944138/quote/97072?page=153"The power conference commissioners have decided on roster limits that will be filed this week as part of the settlement in the House vs. NCAA case, which has to be approved by the court. Scholarship limits are being eliminated as part of the settlement, replaced by a roster limit system in which each team can choose to scholarship as many or as few athletes as it wants." www.nytimes.com/athletic/5656304/2024/07/24/ncaa-scholarships-limits/
