Lol all you fairweathers can complain and hallucinate alternate realities with different coaches until you’re blue in the face. I just think it’s very obvious how many of you (some even saying outright) that you are only watchers of the sport and have no sense of coaching successfully within it. You guys hallucinate ideas of the coaching staff and players holding animosity towards each other, you incessantly allude to reasons why the program’s best player should/will transfer out, you’re crickets quiet or give begrudging praise to the team after good wins and bipolarly call for the coaching staff to be tarred and feathered after a bad loss. So many of you are absolutely the worst type of fans, poor understanding of the nuances of the game and lack of understanding everything simply can’t go your way just because you want it to or you feel some sort of entitlement or as if any program is above a bad conference loss when literally the ENTIRE conference is going to be gunning for you and will give you their best game, ESPECIALLY second round of play. But honestly, it’s not even worth pointing out the stupidity and invalidity of your opinions, they are yours to have. That much you are entitled to. All I have to say is that each of you honestly makes this thread a horrible place to be. Like just look at the last 3 pages of back and forth between 2 of the worst culprits. Just negative sh!tpost after negative sh!tpost. Regardless of how this season ends, whether positively or not, some of you individuals have made this a god awful online environment and stained this community as one that can’t support the team at its highs and lows, no matter how low. I have said it once, and I will say it again, I truly hope recruits don’t use a program’s Volleytalk thread as a factor to decide where they are going to head to. Because if I knew this was the level of support I got for myself as an athlete or was given to my future coaches from my potential “fan base” I wouldn’t be surprised if Hawaii never saw another recruit sign ever again and all the ones in the pipeline decommitted. It’s already been a crap week for this country but I gotta say, some of you guys really f***ing suck lol Ouch! Hang in there. |

... because they're entirely different schools with entirely different selling points, operating in entirely different regions of the country? Simplying saying that "if Creighton can do it, Hawaii should as well" is a really narrow-minded way of looking at the whole recruiting process. Majority of Creighton's starters (or entire roster, really) are from Nebraska/Kansas/Midwest. Trying to get these girls to come to Creighton would be a much easier sell than Hawaii. It is just a fact that getting highly-ranked recruits to Hawaii has been a difficult task for decades regardless of the coaching staff. Wasn't one of Shoji's literal selling points was that he could take the underrated recruits that he had and turn them into All-Americans? Saying that the lack of ranked recruits is entirely Robyn's fault is silly, and changing her out wouldn't make this any easier. I think recruiting in Nebraska/Midwest is similar to recruiting Hawaii/West Coast. Both are rich in per capita talent. Hawaii is usually one of the top per capita in terms of sending D1 volleyball athletes through the country. You could likely put together a Top 25 squad if you had your choice of talent. Creighton is able to reap the rewards of a volleyball-hungry state in a way that we aren't able to do. Our fan support and facilities are better than Creighton (I've been there and seen them), like Hawaii--they also have unique recruiting challenges that need to be overcome. In the prime Hawaii days, Shoji was getting recruits that were likely among the nation's best--it's just that there were no recruiting services/rankings and stuff like there are now. Even at the end of his era, Shoji was able to get like one Top 50 recruit a year. The biggest thing that changed is that we can't get our choice of walkons anyore because all of the other schools are raiding all of the talent that was normally able to walk on and excel. I guess I am weird, but I want RAM as the Wahine coach, because the program continues to win. "the program continues to win"?! Not sure if you heard the news or not but Hawaii just lost to UC Riverside for the first time in history. This season they also lost to UC Davis at home for the first time in history, and aside from the injury plagued 1992 season (and 93), this team has the most road losses in program history, and most conference losses for the first time in history. That's not the kind of "winning" that I want! If Sheffield retired and the new coach in 7 seasons took Wisconsin from perennial national rankings to not being ranked anymore and then struggling to win a conference you historically dominated, then losing to the perennial bottom dwellers of the Big 10 I doubt you'd be saying "I want XYZ as the Wisconsin coach, because the program continues to win."... I want the Wahine to win more consistently going forward and her to stay as the coach because of that. |

Kate is 35 assists away from being #3 in all time assists and take that spot from RAM! Caylen has moved up from #20 (last week) to #18 (this week) in all time kills at 1128 kills
