I used to follow Hawaii HS girls volleyball back then because my youngest daughter was still playing but for the life of me I don't recall a Kelsey Robinson. What HS did she play for? I don’t think the poster meant to say Robinson was a local girl. She was just listing the players that would have made up that team if everyone committed. There was no Kelsey Robinson from Hawaii High School, Thanks. I get it now. I was confused because the discussion was about Hawaii HS Gatorade POY that stayed home so his comment about Robinson threw me off...

lol Kelsey Robinson, the Tennessee player who transferred to Nebraska Got POY and is now an Olympian My apologies. I thought the discussion was about Hawaii HS Gatorade POY that stayed home to play for the home team. It was. But then people were mentioning kan staying home, and I just went to the 2013 team To think we almost had Falyn Fanoimoana too.... Dave had some pretty incredible near misses when it came to recruiting.

I think we also missed out Justine Wong Orantes. Didn’t she became a Olympian too?

Choy didn't "stay" home. She played at Utah then came home after she got her degree. Carly Kan didn't stay home either. She played for Mizzou then came home to play on the UH Beach team after she got her degree from Mizzou. Also, I believe that Aneli, Kanoe, and Lily were Gatorade POY that also stayed home. Aneli started at Southern Idaho then came back after her Associates degree.

I remember Dave Shoji saying that it was between Choy and Iosia and they offered Iosia. In retrospect the wahine might have been better off with Choy AND Iosia

She always wanted to be a Wahine but out of high school she didn't have the grades to get in so she went to CSI (community college) to get her grades up so she could enroll at UH. So it's not like she was recruited by a 4 yr college and chose them and went away.

Thanks for that info.

Falyn’s BF at the time was a football player on the Hawaii football team. I remember watching practices and seeing her at many practices. Got my hopes high that she would enroll at UH and elevate our program. Unfortunately, that never happened and was bummed.
School might have been something she didn’t want to attend.

Just went to the Omaha Supernovas website and Amber is no longer listed on the roster. Says she is playing overseas. Can anyone explain what happened?

Well, she may have gotten cut or the Omaha coaches may have advised her to pursue other pro contract offers. I mean, there are a lot of good middles on that team.

That’s a ridiculous assumption lol I’m pretty sure she’s just opting to play overseas, that’s been the desired experience for post NCAA collegiate women’s for years now and until this new pro league actually establishes itself, thats how it will stay.
