With no unexpected portal activity and such a fluid lineup heading into next season (except for Lang) there are no ingrained starters (like Wagoner) that some people want to see benched (other than maybe Lang ). Just a smattering of hopeful optimism for now, but the offseason is young. I'm not sure who is in favor of Lang, a proven incoming senior setter who ended her junior year strong, being benched. This is unless incoming freshman Arquette is much better. Yea and even with the issues I had with Lang early, on it’s face I don’t see Arquette coming in and being that sharp right away with 3-4 months of not setting in competitive play. I thought she looked alright in the posted video but definitely hoping setting multiple matches throughout the club season gets her closer to being good enough to set over both Lang and Matias. If Spike and Serve girls is anywhere close to their boys teams, they should have a travel heavy schedule and we can start to see how should looks against top competition.

With the injury to Way, it would be in Hawaii's best interest to target a middle to help provide some depth. More so than a oppo at this point

Inexplicably, on last years thread there were some people throughout the season complaining about Kate’s play while she was racking up eight Setter of the Week awards. But it was a small group.

If they wanted to move on from Lang, they likely wouldn't have offered her a 5th year scholie with two setters behind her.
worst case scenario (for Lang) is that with the influx of hitters we end up running a 6-2

Loved that video of Brooke! Her family is well traveled and from all over the Pacific and beyond. She seems to be garnering a lot of attention in the Philippines.

Cha'lei with the jump serve 🔥 Smart girl. If you can serve well and put teams OOS, coaches will find a role for you….even if you’re only a freshman. Cha’lei will have one whole HS season to work on her serving and improve on it. I know Malinah also has a jump serve too so both cousins are smart to work on their serving. The Wahine have basically been mostly “just serve in and play on” type team. With Amber no longer there and our MBs will be young, we may need to find points with more aggressive serving. Getting aces and putting teams OOS repeatedly is a winning formula.

Without any rude comment because I honestly don’t know and tried looking it up but what does it mean when a pro team “waived” a player? also can they play on another team ?

I'm not exactly sure if it's the same in professional volleyball overseas but I believe in the US's major professional leagues the waived player remains contracted with their current team for a short amount of time but its available to be courted and contracted by other teams. Simply, get picked up or terminated the next day or whatever the allotment of time is given when the waiver is issued.

Imho, Gaskin was clearly signed as a practice player--although I guess if you look at how thin the Thrill's roster was, she could have had an outside shot to make it.
