No team in the final four is likeable. I think neutral fans will support Pitt. Texas has that stigma..... everything is BIGGER in Texas including regional final title celebrations. Nebraska fanbase is Midwestern nice from my prospective. Those hating on Wisconsin mostly due to dislike of the coach. they lost to Stanford earlier in the season. people counted Texas out. now they get a chance to play for a repeat title. why wouldn't the emotion meet the moment? calm your tips

Okay. But weren’t Penn State and Purdue faced with that same block - and weren’t even top 15 …. Soooooo. If we isolate just that one match-up, yes there is a point to be made. Overall match-ups are different team to team. Wisconsin can do some things that may frustrate the Longhorns like counter Madi with Franklin. Put up a huge wall to nullify all of Texas' hitters except Madi or even Madi herself. Also, I think for the Purdue and Penn State matches the Badgers were without some players but I'm not too sure. Smrek was out with a concussion, and our backup outsides are injured. We had to move three people to different positions: TTA to RS, Julia to OH, and GG to L. That caused a lot of problems for those two games.

Smrek was out those games So Smrek is the key. Okay. Got it. She actually is. That, and the fact that we don't have any backup OHs. With Anna in, teams have to take into account her 6'9" block, and the fact that she dents the floor. And, the other 3 players had to adjust to new roles, and Julia is not as terminal as TTA and is also a bit shorter.

Looking like another 10+ year drought without a championship for Stanford… maybe a final 4 drought coming too 23 final fours and 9 NC’s. We’ll be okay. Feel free to try and catch up. Elite #s. Dunning not here to save the day though…

Asjia has a hair fewer kills/set versus Smrek, and a hair more blocks per set (career averages). I don’t think that’s the key to what happens.

Regardless of how tall she is the stats indicate they are about even.

If you take Anna out, we don't have someone with her stats to replace her. Also it would be Booth is really the Wisconsin equivalent of O'Neal.

I get everyone is marginally happy with Wenaas - I get it - I am too. I too was touched by the Hallmark hug - ** but ** she remains the Achilles heel - both in SR and attacking - when she’s oos she two hands it over and not even to a difficult spot on the floor. If she has a good game it will be the stat that lifts everyone up. I’m toasting her tonight.
