Have been feeling this way for awhile. It feels like he exaggerates things to boost some players who are struggling with confidence. Examples are Orr's setting last season, Jurevicious apparently hitting lights out in practice (I know she's a redshirt), Batenhorst a better blocker than Krause. Helps to boost morale of those on the bench, while stoking competitive fire in starters. Just my opinion. I do wonder if Caroline is actually super solid though While one never knows, this recently published article makes it seem like she is. theathletic.com/5118349/2023/12/07/nebraska-volleyball-jurevicius-family/

Not according to Cook. When comparing Batenhorst and Krause he said Batenhorst was the better blocker. Cook says a lot of things... Yes, he does, but in this case he is correct. Statistically, through the season Batenhorst averages .58 blocks per set. Krause averages .57 blocks per set. Where Krause outshines Batenhorst is in offensive production. Krause's hitting percentage and kills per set are higher than Batenhorst's. Krause was averaging .285, whereas Batenhorst is only hitting .199 for the season. The thing about Batenhorst that worries me is she vacillates wildly between good offensive play and bad offensive play. She had some very good matches leading up to the tournament, but she also hit very poorly in the first Wisconsin match, the second Penn State match, and the Arkansas match. In the Arkansas match she hit 9/7/32 for a .062 hitting percentage. That is not good, especially considering she was going up against undersized blockers. We need her to have a decent offensive match against Pittsburgh.

Huskers are too good and so young.
If cook can keep everyone happy and out of the portal, are they setting up for a Penn St type run over the next 3 or 4 years?

I don't think they have the attackers - either currently on the roster or incoming (foreseen) - to pull that off. There isn't a Megan Hodge or Nicole Fawcett in that room.

Games have definitely been entertaining… but there has not been a single major upset in the tournament despite that ? Is #7 Texas with losses to LBSU and K State over #2 Stanford not a major upset? Or is Texas being in the FF just considered business as usual i think it was considering how much hype Stanford brought and how less-than-impressive Texas had been before that game

Huskers in four. They girls have the stuff to win a national title. So does Pitt and they feature one of my favorites in Rachel Fairbanks, but Pitt winning would be a major upset in my opinion. I am excited to see Harper, Bergen, Andi and Laney go up against Stafford and Olivia! This match-up was fated. I'm nervous, to be honest. Stafford is freakishly tough and slept on like crazy compared to Babcock, who is just as good with a great serve. it's going to be a battle of non-non factors lol can batenhorst get involved, can Berg distribute more to the middle, can our block close. and in contrast can we throw off klika, make VVG (love her tho a gorgeous six ro queen) be ineffective at service line and hit heavy negative. And last but not least, read Fairbanks and slow down the frosh !!!

Considerably more in fact.

And last but not least, read Fairbanks and slow down the frosh !!! I think each team has great factors; I can't really see how anyone is a non-factor. Sure, Ally struggles with efficiency, but she does take out a lot of trash for the Huskers. She has to continue to manage her OOS offense and will need to terminate well when given chances in the system and hold her own in serve receive. Physically, she is capable of at least slowing down Babcock. If VVG pops off, that may force Ally to have to up her game even more. Of course, this scenario isolates the OH2 battle and is predicated on everyone else on both teams playing well. Babcock's serve could be a difference-maker, but I think the Husker passing line is more than up for the challenge which could put pressure on Olivia to feel like she has to do more from the service line. In my opinion, the true struggle within the battle will be the defenses. We will find out whose defense is queen for the night. I'm leaning towards Nebraska.
