Congratulations Texas on beating Wisconsin soundly. You dominated first touches and were more in-system than Wisconsin. You frustrated the Badgers on offense and were better out of system. Skinner was great and O’Neal was O’Neal in great play. Halter was great and sitting at the right spots and was easily the best libero on the floor. Phillips was very effective.
As an example just look at the difference in just aces to errors. Huge. Plus so many serves where Wisconsin was scrambling on offense. Great team defense and definitely more efficient offense. The final will be very good and first touches can be so hard to predict against top flight teams. I was surprised of the Longhorn victory but really if you serve and pass that well, the snowball effect turns into a very big snowman base that runs downhill more times than not.

Texas was great tonight. Spectacular. But one more point the wrong way vs Tennessee and Texas disappointingly bombed out in the round of 16. We treat the tournament as this definitive thing, and it is really quite capricious and haphazard.
(And that goes for Wisconsin and 2021, too. One more point at the end of the second set, and Nebraska wins that championship.) The tournament is an incredibly definitive thing, but sometimes not the definitive thing people want it to be. The tournament (obviously) definitively determines the tournament champion, which is an amazing and much-sought-after achievement. That's it. That's what it's for; that's what it does. The trophies say "tournament champion" not "best overall team 2023." The tournament doesn't definitively determine which team is "best overall" - though on many occasions the "best overall" and tournament champion have been the same. People seem to get so stressed or frustrated by this dichotomy, especially if they feel their team is better overall than the tournament champion. But that's an unavoidable situation in light of a single elimination format - it's bound to happen intermittently.
I think possibly hardcore fans get frustrated if they think their team is "better overall" but doesn't win the tournament because casual fans and observers really don't care (just throwing theories out there). The tournament winner is what gets attention and the great seasons of non-winning teams don't get the same attention. Maybe on a hardcore fan site like VT, but not many other places.
Are you WI fans for real? WI just came unglued, got spanked, and sent home with red bottoms. Now you are saying your 2021 National Championship is NOT a National Championship, but just a Tournament Championship ... LMFAO

Tampa 9-1-1, what's your emergency?
Longhorns. These f---ing Longhorns. Help.
Sir, calm down. Where are you, sir.
They just killed us?
Who did they kill, sir? What is your location?
I don't know how to say it, Am a Lie? Am A Lee? The damn arena.
Sir, Who was killed?
My entire team. Oh, the humanity!
What's your name, sir.
Kelly.
Ok, Mister Kelly..officers are on the...
No, Kelly's my first name. Oh My God, hurry. These animals!
What animals, sir?
The Longhorns. There were just so many of them.
Did you do something to aggravate them?
We ran a 6-2?

How in the world did Texas beat Wisconsin with Skinner hitting zero? Come on Holiday, ask for help if you can’t read a stat sheet. Or if you can’t read in general. I’m talking about earlier in the game dumb dumb.

As much as I’m not a Texas fan, you can’t help but respect the fight they brought. Wisconsin looked like they have pretty much all season; big names and spectacular athletes who have not figured out how to play with each other. Disjointed is the word that comes to mind. From here on out I don’t care who wins

Can someone get us passing stats from last night? That was the difference maker, imo. Wisconsin was scrambling last night, running into each other, looking tight and discombobulated. Kind of like how Texas looked at the beginning of the season tbh.
Halter was also the X factor. TX had a great game plan for taking away that cross court shot and Halter ate. Super impressed by her.
That was not the Wisconsin team I was expecting to show up, usually they GET UP when they are down and they didn't have that tonight, it was really strange. Texas' serving was just too much I guess. They just looked stressed the whole game, no rhythm.
I was cheering for TX but honestly didnt think they'd pull it off. Well played Longhorns, well played.

Anyone have the Wisconsin server receive numbers? Can’t believe they passed over a 2.0.

When Wisconsin got close at the end of the 1st set, I thought they were going to come back and win the set in a similar fashion to how they had earlier in the season. But then even while winning the 2nd set, things just felt off.

Probably the worst she has all season.
