Wisconsin No. 5 class No. 15 Madison Quest, Outside Hitter, MKE Sting No. 16 Kristen Simon, Libero/DS, Adidas KiVa No. 23 Natalie Wardlow, Middle Blocker, Nebraska ONE No. 33 Addison Horner, Setter, 1st Alliance VBC This class is going to be so good. Madison Quest would easily be a top 3 OH pick in 2024, 2023, 2022, and 2021. Is she related to Johnny?

Is there a special camp going on right now? I think Devyn posted something but it doesn’t match up with the camp schedule posted on the site. Maybe one of those workarounds to get recruits on campus? Since NIL, athletes can run their own camps. Maybe a few of the players are doing that.

Potentially a lucrative endeavor for the players, but I wonder what the college coaches would think about it? I think coaches are only allowed limited contact with players during the summer, so if the coach just "shows up" at a camp run by one of his players that might be an NCAA violation. However, it might be a good way for coaches to get potential recruits on campus who otherwise couldn't make the coaches camp. I could see this as either a good or a bad thing, depending on how it is managed.

Players are doing side hustles where they operate a camp for players who pay money to come to their camp. Who is supposed to manage that?

Still waiting for Sheff to pull a rabbit out of the hat, so I went back to check on the verbal 2025 commits made in June 2024. I had forgotten that's when Sheff did his sequential BINGOs, one player per day: Quest 6/16, Wardlow 6/17, Horner 6/18, then Simon. Maybe we'll have some similar excitement soon. This place sure could use it.

If the players are running it and managing it that is one thing. It would be another thing if the coaches or the University was managing it under the table, while the players just show up the day of the camp. In the first case it would be fine. In the second case there might be potential NCAA violations, which might make it problematic. On its face, I have no problem with players running side hustles to make money, as long as it's legal. Here in Nebraska the volleyball players are rock stars, so I think a camp run by the players would be very popular.

If so, will Sheffield look for another high school player to sign, or will he save it to try and nab a player from the portal?

He does have a scholarship available and has been open about his search for depth at OH via the portal. That's the rabbit I'm hoping for.
I'm also hoping to see some 2026 verbal commits announced after 6/15/24, similar to the announcements he made last year for the 2025 commits.
