What are you guys most looking forward to seeing tonight? I'm excited to see Charlie at D1 speed, for one, and every year Julia impresses me with some new aspect of her game, can't wait to see what she's been cooking.

I'd like to see how TSC looks on the pin in case there's a need for a backup for a weekend.

Good article! Do Badger fans consider Wisconsin Volleyball blue bloods? If no, what would it take?

Badger volleyball being back, generally. Also to see if there's even the slightest hint at what we do with the talent at MB/RS. I doubt the lineup we see tonight is the lineup we see in November, but even just a little taste would be great.

Good article! Do Badger fans consider Wisconsin Volleyball blue bloods? If no, what would it take? Based on the achievements of the past decade— natty champs, multi time conference champs, and the development of two Olympians—I would argue that Wisconsin Volleyball has earned blue blood status. Lauren Carlini and Kelly Sheffield deserve significant credit for revitalizing this program. I hope to see the team continue to grow and reach new milestones. Our program isn’t as developed as Nebraska’s very mature program in terms of media coverage, NIL deals and recruiting advantages, but John Cook is nearing the end of his career, while Kelly Sheffield is still climbing. Kelly and his staff are committed to building Wisconsin Volleyball into a dynasty, as demonstrated by their latest recruiting class, which includes three players from the top ten. Truly the sky is the limit with this group. I am hopeful that having LOVB Madison will allow players to mentor and take part in Badger practices. How cool would it be for Charlie to train with Lauren?

Well since there’s no stream, won’t be seeing anything sadly. Will follow along with live stats and radio, though! Looking forward to hearing how Fuerbringer’s setting looks, how the passing holds up, and who appears to be the presumed Libero and DS. Ultimately, just looking forward to another great season of Badger Volleyball!

I don't give much thought to blue bloods (discussed non-stop about bad Nebraska football streak) but it was mentioned in the article so made me curious. I'm still not sure if they are blue blood or not but I don't think they are slowing down anytime soon!

I am most looking forward to seeing how Charlie is at the college level and how her connections with hitters have been built in 2 1/2 months. I also want to find out the most pressing issue, what offense we will run. Lastly, I want to see how Lola can boost defense and specifically serve receive.

Normally, I'd expect multiple lineups, such that drawing conclusions on anything - libero vs DS, second left, etc - wouldn't really happen. But with Louisville, Texas, and Stanford all coming quickly, we may see more "starting lineup" than we otherwise might have.
So I guess I'm looking for how much or little lineup juggling there will be.

For tonight I’m definitely looking forward to seeing the lineup played with, that’s going to hopefully show who are front runners for our season opening gauntlet

If you believe in a higher power, pray for Smrek 6 rotation opposite. Why? If they run a 5-1, which would be implied by Smrek being 6-rotation, then they'll have more than enough subs to use. And I don't think there's any chance of Smrek playing better floor defense than Damrow or Shumacher or Chan, etal. So unless you think she's going to hit D-ball like Samedy, there'd be no reason to leave Smrek on the floor to play the back row.

I can't be there so I won't be able to see anything, as it looks like it's not going to be televised.
It's possible they hold Franklin back from hitting for this match, just to be on the safe side. We don't even know if she has been jumping yet in practice. I'm expecting TSC to get some swings from the left. Interested to hear how she does. Like everyone else, I'm interested in whether they go with a 6-2 or a 5-1 and how they compare.
I'm not concerned about Fuerbringer. The BR is the real question mark for me.
